Staff Professional Learning Teachers from Binalong PS will join a number of teachers within our Yass Network for ongoing staff mee ngs (to be held Wednesdays of week 4 and week 9 each term) with a focus on increasing staff understanding of data skills and analysis. As a group we will be able to analyse student work samples and increase our knowledge of the new Learning Progressions and how these fit with our current NSW Syllabus outcomes. We are looking forward to con nuing to grow our professional rela onships with our nearby colleagues. Our network mee ngs will take place at Bowning PS and our network is supported by Literacy and Numeracy Strategy Advisors, Director Educa onal Leadership and other local principals. Student par cipa on in this wonderful opportunity has been heavily funded by the P&C and will involve: 21 August ‐ an excursion to the Na onal Gallery of Australia and the ANU Sculpture School (along with all of the other par cipa ng schools) – look out for the permission note. 5‐6 September – Sculpture workshops with ar sts held at Mt Carmel 5 September – Sculpture in the Paddock Student Project Launch – 5.30pm Har gan Centre Courtyard Mt Carmel 11 September – Sculpture workshop with ar sts held at Binalong PS 20 September – Sculpture in the Paddock opening at Shaw This is an exci ng opportunity for students to develop and build their art‐making skills and talents working

alongside professional ar sts. Student par cipa on in the project will form the major basis of their visual arts teaching and learning program for the term. We would like to thank the P&C for once again whole‐heartedly recognising the vital role that the crea ve arts plays in the development of a young persons’ educa on and suppor ng the par cipa on in the program by providing the funding for all students in 3‐6 par cipa on.
