Basic Instructions for Beginners

General Information

ProsTE - Programming Software Teletek Electronics, is a programming tool for products designed and distributed by Teletek Electronics JSC.

Program Installation

Run the installation file “Setup.exe”At the next window choose your language from the drop-down menu or continue with “English” settings and press “ОК”

Select the desired location for installation. You can change the default location with clicking the “Browse...” button. Press “Next” button to continue with the installation.

Choose the type of installation using the drop-down menu – Full, Compact or Custom.Press “Next” button to continue with the installation.

Create a Start menu folder. If you do not want a Start menu folder check out the “Don’t create a Start Menu folder” option.Press “Next” button to continue with the installation.

Connecting of Panel or Module

To program the alarm panels VEGA 6 RF,CA62, AVA or modules ARGUS GSM, AJAX LAN and AJAX GPRS you have to use “cableProsTE” kit (for PC only) or “cable ProsTE”kit and USB-RS232 converter (for laptopsand computers without COM Ports). To program the ТР2000 radio transmitter you have to use “cable ProsTE” kit and PS2-RS232 converter.To program a fire alarm panel IRIS you have to use a standard crossed cable for LAN networks.

ATTENTION: The fire alarm panel IRIS and the computer with installed ProsTE software must be connected in one and same LAN network during programming procedure!

Choose in sequence “Start” - “Programs” - “ProsTE” and click on “ProsTE.exe” to run the program application.

The program is ready for system programming when the menu “System” appears on the left upper corner on the screen. The program waits to add a system for programming.

Working with the Program

Choose “System”, press the right button of the mouse and select “Add”. From the drop-down menu choose a panel or module for programming.

Working with the ProgramAfter a successful adding of device for programming, its programming menus will be available as a tree-structure. Every panel or module has different programming menus.

Parameters for Programming

When the name of the programmed panel or module is selected all functional buttons will be active. The function of the buttons is as follows:

Working with the Program

Close the program.

Change the current language of the menus.

Check for available updates of the software.

Enable or disable the automatic update of the software.

Run the Help file.

List the differences between the set parameter configuration in the program and the real system configuration.

Read the parameters set to the system memory.

Write the new settings to the system memory.

Set a new time and date in the system.

Read the memory log file for the events in the system.

Save a new system configuration.

Save the current open system configuration.

Open a previously saved system configuration.

Clear all the opened in the tree-structure pane systems and open a new system for programming.

To read (download) parameters set on panel or module, do as follows:

Select the name of the devicePress the “Read” buttonTo read parameters for panels VEGA 6RF, CA62, AVA or modules ARGUS GSM, in “Read” dialog window choose the RS232 tab and enter СОМ Port for communication. If there is only one available Com Port the system will recognize it automatically. If there are several available COM Ports you have to choose the one to witch the device is physically connected. Press the “Ok”button.Enter a password to access the parameters. Standard default codes for password: VEGA 6 RF - 7777, CA62 - 1234 orArgus – 7777.

After entering a valid user code and correct connection between the device and Com Port a system message will inform you for successful operation: “Download from hardware finished successfully”. Press “Ok” button to proceed with settings.

The procedure for reading log memory, setting the time and date and verifying current to set parameters for a device is done in exactly the same way after opening the “Read” dialogue window.

To read the parameters set for IRIS fire alarm panel, do as follow:

Select the name of the devicePress the “Read” optionChoose the TCP tab in the “Read”window.Enter the “Host” address of the panel and number of communication port –the standard port is 7000.

Enter a password to access the parameters. The standard default code for IRIS panel is 3333.

To write (upload) parameters to panel or module configuration, do as follows:

Select the name of the devicePress the “Write” optionTo write parameters to panels VEGA 6RF, CA62, AVA or modules ARGUS GSM, in “Write” dialog window choose the RS232 tab and enter СОМ Port for communication. If there is only one available Com Port the system will recognize it automatically. If there are several available COM Ports you have to choose the one to witch the device is physically connected. To save the current system configuration for archive and future use, press the “Save” button and select a destination for saving.

The saved file can be opened later with pressing the “Load” button.

Creating Data BaseTDF (Teletek Data File) – a file extension for systems configurations created and saved via ProsTE programming software. A TDF file can store more than one system configuration. To save the current system configuration as a TDF file, press the “Save” button and select a destination for saving. To open and existing TDF file press the “Load” button.
