Dear West Virginia Public Service Commission and West Virginia American Water,
We are pleased to present you with this petition affirming this statement:
"WVAW has asked for another rate increase saying aging info structure was to why they need the increase. We The People of West Virginia need to say no. They are taking more money from us hard working people. I will deliver this petition to The WV PSC and tell them the Customers of WVAW does not want this rate increase."

WV has higher utility rates than other southern states. It's ridiculous to hike the cost again and again. People can't make enough to pay their bills. 1 especially feel for those on minimum wage or social security.

We go without water for days or weeks because of aomething that isnt our fault and they think they deserve a raise. 1 don't think so. It's time that the hard working, tax paying citizens be heard and we stop paying for the private jets, luxurious hotels, lavish vacations, big cars, and fancy homes. We have a right to live also and we need to start living instead of starving because we have huge utility payments.

WVAWC let chemicals into our water system without knowing the damaging affects to us and especially our children. We sti don't know if the water is safe and they gave us a tiny tiny discount. This is not a respectable company. They had no backup water supply nor did they shut off water intake

W A W is bleeding our state dry. Aging infostructure should not be the responsibility of the customer. Upkeep is part of the businesses responsibility, and too many West Virginians are struggling to make ends meet to keep up with the rising cost of utilities.

I feel we pay enough for water now. This water company is not even in U.S.A. This state is in bad share now with coal mines shutting down and young people leave or turn to drugs. We cannot afford a rate increase. There are a lot of old people in state and most of them are raising their grand-children. They are on limited income and this increase will hurt them.

They need to take from current profits to make repairs not pass cost on to customers. Last several raises have been for repairs its time the utilities use profits for upgrades and repairs like all other businesses! They show billions in profits each year

Do nit give them any increase. They will just give the upper management big pay increases and not do anything to make the water safe to drink. I spend a $50.00 a month average for bottle water because i know it is safer to consume. They never have used the increases to improve our quality of water yet the higher ups get big raises

it doesnt need to be increased! People especially with kids have a hard enough time of making ends meet! Seems like aince minimun wage went up everyone has increased or is trying to increase the price of everything.. Which means the little amount they did raise wages isnt even going to help. Utilities are NOT supposed to he For Profit. By having failed to NOT update piping and systems over the last 30-50 years, the WVAW has taken a money-saving stance versue the Public Interest and water safety measures. the WVAW does NOT deserve a rate increase to do a job that should have already been done years ago.

Why have they not set funds aside to do continued upgrades ? If you don't put money back into your business you end up with no business. Invest in your own company to keep it afloat. Wee should not have to buy you cars and homes, That should come out of you own pay. If you would have done PLANNED Maints. along the way you would not be in the shape you are in. Quality is not your priority; The Bottom Profit Line is. If you provide Quality the Profits will come.

Water crisis 2014 and now water crisis 2015. Take the money from your pay raises you give each other and the bonus checks you all cut every six months. Water is too expensive as is.

Further investigation needs to be completed to determine why upgrades haven't been instituted for decades now (on many lines). The consumer shouldn't be responsible for the lack of planning and preparedness with repairing many outdated lines.

My meter cover has been busted with a huge hole for 3 years. It's not in the ground anymore. Now everytime it gets near zero, my water freezes off. I have complained numerous of times to no avail .... I have gone three weeks at a time with no water because it blows up the line on their side. They come out to fix it when they feel like it.

The people that have experienced the recent main breaks have just got a sample of what my neighbors and I have to deal with on a regular basis. We went 22days without water last summer and we still go without water a couple days out of every month. We are so sick of it.

Constant rate hikes are draining the few resources that poorer West Virginians have. It is difficult to live with the high rates of electricity, and water. Maybe they should consider cutting executive salaries first.

Their failure to maintain the existing water mains, the constant interruption in water service is and has been shotty at best. The fees they collect from their customers is more than enough for them to maintain or replace existing lines. I do not see them out doing anything, however, if I do not pay my bill on time they are quick to shut it off. I and others live on fixed incomes as well as others in my community who work to make ends meet. It seems every time we turn around there is a water emergency. WVAW does not deserve a rate hike. Their services are horrible because they are not working for the customers.

They should have been using a portion of their fees for maintenance and upgrades to the infrastructure. Instead we have water outages, sometimes repeatedly in the same location, due to archaic pipes and pumps

Until they can deliver me clean usable water they actually don't deserve what they get now, let alone a rate increase. No ..... No ...... No. They probably cited improvements to the lines to get the last rate increase. They're facility was and still is located near Chemicals that whether yon tell me they are safe in so many parts per million I say Not. I say they're incompetent.

Preventative maintenance should have been performed all along. That's part of the cost of doing business. If the best they can do is repair a main after it's broken, where are they putting the money they collect? Investors and shareholders are important but not at the cost of the actual business they are supposed to be functioning as. Your customer base is your bread and butter. The investors are gravy. Take care of us first.

Dunbar streets are always being dug tip to repair water leaks, and then never repaired correctly to say the least about other inconveniences through each year. Repairs should come out of the company's pockets not increased rates. When you pay for something new, you expect to get good service; but when you pay for old worn out pipes that keep breaking and leaking, you should get a rate decrease for the inconvenience.

1 don't feel I should have to pay a higher water bill when I can't even drink the water I pay you for now. I have to buy at least 6 paks of bottled water with 32 in a pak per week to eat and drink clean water. 1 tried to drink the water after the chemical leak and it makes me sick and cramps my stomach. Also I have long hair and it has taken me a full year to stop my hair from falling out and being burned at the ends. I lost almost 6 inches from my hair. My animals have to he fed bottled water also and that is an added expense. Now WVAWV wants a 28% raise . Maybe WVAWC should be supplying my bottled water for life. I can't even use my ice maker on my fridge,I have to buy ice, my hot water heater is not working like it should and I have had to throw out several loads of laundry because we have breaks in the lines where I live at least one every 2 weeks ..... sometimes more! The cloths come out of the wash with a brown tint to them. Now we all know why everybody is leaving Charleston and going to other states!

WVAWC needs to repair its infrastructure before asking for a rate increase. If it believes a 9% ROE is deserved due to a national average, it should look up the average salary in WV compared to the national average as well as the rate of unemployment. People in WV can't afford a rate increase.

Their is no middle class in West Virginia. Their are the well off and the termination to termination. They state the rate hike is in part due to 150 million dollars worth of infrastructure repair needed in WV. lf they had not paid $50 million dollars to those executives in that 5 year span, and instead applied that money towards maintenance, they might not have needed to do as much repair work. Further, they make a large profit.

WV American Water is completely unreliable. Our water has gone out several times in the past year. I've never heard of a water company with so many issues. They don't need a rate hike. Their customers can't even count on having water because they never know when it will go out or have a boil water advisory.

The water outages from 2014 and last weewthis week have caused me to lose wages since my place of business had to shut their doors. Yon do NOT deserve a raise to give bonuses and buy jets. WVAM does not need another increase. Utilities are supposed to be affordable. Each year WVAM and AEP request raises, when none are needed. IF a company turns $1 million plus profit, then raises are not needed, because Heaven knows their customers do not have $1 million left over after paying bills, mortgage, etc. oh and two words: water crisis.

We can't be expected to continually assume the costs of a utility company that has not provided tbe necessary maintenance to it's equipment. Dunbar's pipes only receive attention when the pipes burst which has consistently occurred and resulted in customers unable to access our most needed utility related to hygiene. Businesses have sustained economic hardships and loss of revenue which is not reimbursed. Finally, there have been numerous residences and businesses physically damaged because of pipes that have not received regular maintenance. Stop approving their requests for an increase in rates. You are punishing the citizens instead of protecting our interests. Shame on you! We need to request that your organization be dissolved. You serve no purpose to the citizens of WV. You hurt us financially and we are tired of it. Get rid of the Commision! Let them apply gor jobs at tbe water company.

There is NO excuse for all that has happened with our water. We as citizens pay in good faith for water service and expect it to he up to par. It is not our fault that the water company does not do check ups on their equipment etc.. Why should we have to pay for repairs that should he taken care of on their part? My sewer through pea ride is $10 less than ny water bill. If water raises my sewer will also raise. I am paying over $100 per month for water and sewer now. 1 am a single mother with 3 children 2 of which have special needs. I can not handle another rate increase by another utility company!!!!!

I'm nearly to the point of taking me household urine and feces to wvaw so they can figure out how to dispose of it because I haven't been able to flush for way too many days. Does the company deserve increases? They don't even deserve the jobs they have in my opinion. What a failure. It's criminal the situation they have put us in by not doing proper maintenance on the infrastructure in nearly a century. They should be jailed accordingly.

I will not pay a rate increase!!! I will haul water, put in a cistern, catch rain water, etc. whatever I have to do, but I refuse to give them more of my hard earned money for poor water quality and service.

My rates have increased from $16/month to an average of $40/month with one less person in the house. How can this be (no leaks, etc)? I suspect their meters are faulty in their favor. They definitely do not need another rate increase.

the thought of paying one cent more than I have to now for such poor quality water makes me cringe. WVAW doesn't care a bit about their customers and are already making record profits and should pay for their own improvements like everybody else. If you approve this rate increase I would have to believe that you are making some money off of this deal because if left to the people it affects they would all say no to another rate hike.
