What is Technology Integration?

• It is “the incorporation of technology and technology-based practices into the daily routines, work, and management of an organization” (Szuba, Rogers, & Malitz, 2005)

•In Education, it’s the “Total PACKage”

• (Roblyer, 2005)

“Teaching requires an intricate combination of content, pedagogy, and technology knowledge” (Roblyer, 2005)

By using the “Total PACKage” you are helping prepare your students for the 21st century.

The State Educational Technology Directors Association (SETDA) identified three areas technology should be used to improve student learning.

(Maximizing the Impact, 2007, p. 3)

1. Use technology comprehensively to develop proficiency in 21st century skills.

2. Use technology comprehensively to support innovative teaching and learning.

3. Use technology comprehensively to create robust education support systems.

• Technology integration is the future of education. By enabling your teachers to use the TPACK model, they will be able to unlock student success. Technology will reach more students in more ways than traditional teaching ever could.
