Girls In Action Receives Thanks From Our Pastor

In Matthew 28:19-20 records the Great Commission given by Jesus to His followers. The word commission means authority to act for, in behalf of, or in place of another. Jesus began His mission which was to seek and to save the lost. Following His death, burial, and resurrection Jesus commissioned His disciples to continue the mission that He started. Jesus has commanded His disciples to “go” and “make disciples.” Making disciples includes evangelism, which means to share the message of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, and discipleship which means teaching disciples to live for Jesus. My prayer is that you and I will understand that Jesus has commanded us to take the message of salvation through faith in Him to the places that we live, work, play, and are being educated. These places are our mission field. This Sunday, I will begin a series of messages from the book of Jonah as we continue focusing on The Obedient Life. I hope that you will be here, and I encourage you to invite someone to attend Sunday School and worship with you this week. Psalm 118:1 tells us, “Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His steadfast love endures forever!” As we approach the Thanksgiving season, I hope that you will join me in thanking the Lord continually for His love, His goodness, and His provision in each one of our lives. I look forward to celebrating Thanksgiving as a church on Sunday, November 24th. I look forward to seeing you this Sunday morning in Sunday School at 9:45 and worship at 11:00. I Love Being Your Pastor! Stephen

The Deer Park Baptist Church Adult Choir Presents

“One Noel” A Cantata Presentation

Sunday, December 15th ~ 11:00AM

In August the GA’s participated In Christmas In August by collecting supplies for Robert E. Arnold, Chaplain for VA Central Iowa Health Care System in Des Moines, Iowa.

The primary duties of Chaplain Arnold is to provide spiritual care to hospitalized patients. Many veterans are homeless or without sufficient family support in their lives. They find comfort in having Chaplain presence for spiritual care while they are in the hospital. Throughout the month of August the GA’s collected specific items needed for this ministry such as coffee, puzzles, books, small crayon packets, etc. Thanks to all who helped the girls in this ministry and for all of the donations given.

The GA’s are sharing their certificate below.

Robert E. Arnold, Ed.D.-Senior Chaplain, VAMC Karen (wife) and Julie (daughter)
