MARK YOUR
CALENDAR:
Sunday, Sept. 13th is "God's Work.
Our Hands" Sunday. What does this mean? God's work. Our hands Sunday is an opportunity to celebrate who we are as the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) - one church, freed in Christ to serve & love our neighbor.
The idea is this: ELCA members are called to put their faith into action by engaging in service activities in their neighborhood or community.
Watch your bulletin for important information about this event coming in September!
Please stop by the table in the
Narthex between services on July
5 to help support
Aline Skogstoe's YAGM trip to the
United Kingdom! She is selling "miles" for $2 - plus you'll get a thank you gift! Check to see the progress and to make sure she
doesn't get stuck in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean!
Mark you calendar for Carol Joy Holling Camp Quilt Auction coming Saturday, July 25. To view quilts, visit

JUNE COUNCIL HIGHLIGHTS
The St. John's council has committed to participating in the ELCA - Day of Service on September 13, 2015. On this day, St. Johns will take our ministry into the community for a day of service. There will be service projects for all ages, so please save the date for a great day of doing God's work with our hands. After careful thought and a survey of Saturday night worshipers over an extended period, the council has approved the recommendation from the Worship Life Team to move the Saturday night worship service from 6 p.m. to 5 p.m. beginning on July 4th. It is the council's hope that this will enable younger families to worship on Saturday evening if they desire and allow for more daylight in the winter, as well as allow more time for evening activities. St. Johns council members participated in an in depth discussion regarding the aging sound board and system. Council members approved moving forward on a sound system analysis so that we can make educated decisions as we work toward sound improvements throughout the church where needed. The changes will happen in stages, but it is the council's goal to improve the worship experience with a dependable sound system. A complete copy of the minutes is available by mail or email by contacting the church office.
JOIN EVEREST VBS AS A CREW LEADER!
Gear up and participate in fun activities while
building relationships with a group of 5-6 elementary-age kids. Staff training sessions will be available in July before VBS starts or there is a training video available. If you are interested,
please check the box on the registration slip.
BE A COOL STATION LEADER At EVEREST VBS!
There is one opening left for a Glacier Games
leader! All of the carefully planned games have a
connection to the days Bible point or lesson. All
equipment and materials will be collected in advance. All that would be left for you to
do is lead the Crews in the fun at three sessions of Glacier Games each day! If you are interested, please check the box on the
attendance registration.

Dear St. Johns
We would like to say thank you on behalf of everyone at the animal shelter. Without you advertising on the electronic
sign, helping serve, helping make the beans taste better, letting us use the church and so many other things, the Bark BQ would not have been as successful as it was. We can never say THANK YOU enough! Many blessings to Pr. David, Pr. Justin, Jim and
your congregation! Yours truly,
Sydney Hurley,
Director of ASNN
Dawn Stange,
Volunteer for the Animal
Shelter

This year, snacks are part of the VBS program so we are in no need of
bars or cookies. We apologize if this
disappoints you. Instead, the kids will get to make their own treats! We
will need ingredients for Trail Mix,
Rock Ramblers Parfait, A Heart-y Snack, Summit Sponge Cake, and
Pizza Peaks. You will find snack
ingredient sheets on the Everest Display Table.
To My Friends: Many thanks for all the prayers and
get-well wishes I received while in the care center. It was a joy to get the mail! I am blessed to have so many caring friends.
Sincerely, Naoma Ronnfeldt
