Become the mayor or a resident of asleepy town in Animal Crossing:New Leaf - Welcome amiibo—andbring that town to life! Interact withother residents, and discover newways to make your town moreinteresting every day.Note: Only the first player to createa character in the game can becomethe town mayor. Additional playerswill become residents.
This game works with yoursystem's calendar and clock. Ifyou adjust these settings andthey do not match your saveddata, it may lead to unintendedin-game side effects. Forinstance, there may be moreweeds in your town or yourturnips (page 14) may rot andlose their value.

9 Saving and Erasing Data
While in a game, you can press and choose to save your
progress.
Saving Dat
Data can be lost due to useraction, such as repeatedlypowering off and on the systemor removing a Game Card or SDCard while saving. Data lossmay also be caused by poorconnectivity due to dirt or dustin the system's ports. Pleasebe aware that in these casesdata cannot be restored.

Demolishing YourHome (ErasinData
Only nonmayoresidents cademolish their homeIt is not possible tdemolish j ust thmayor's home. When a resident'shome is demolished, all of his or herdata will be deleted. If you want todelete the mayor's data, you mustchoose Re-create the town andfollow the prompts to delete allgame data.Note: Demolish my home will deletethe player's data.
About the DownloadableVersion
If you have your save data onan SD Card and try to overwriteit with save data you previouslytransferred, the Nintendo 3DSwill not be able to read thesave data. It is not possible toback up your save data thisway, so please keep this inmind.

Once you'vprogressed to certain point withithe game, a magilamp will preseitself to you. Place the lamp in yourhouse and press to release Wisp.Follow Wisp's directions, and tap acompatible amiibo to the TouchScreen. Depending on thecharacter, you will be able to chatwith them, ask them to visit yourtown via Harvey's campground(page 17), or invite them to live inyour town permanently.● Wisp can only activate one amiibo
per day. Once you've activatedan amiibo, Wisp will not appearagain until the next day.

At the town hallyou can gehelpful advice fmaking the mosof your life itown. From there, the mayor canalso enact ordinances and managepublic works proj ects (page 13).Outside town hall, you can use theCAT Machine to collect your MEOWCoupons.

You can freely place items andfurniture in your home andcustomize your living space. Youalso have a mailbox in front of yourhome for receiving mail (page 15). Ifyour mailbox fills up with letters, youwon't be able to receive new lettersor items you ordered throughcatalog shopping.
