It is with great pleasure that I am writing these words today, We as AIESEC in Ethiopia are proud to go through the same process that we wanted others to go through- Ideas into Actions: Believe Achieve and Inspire. When we first began our term- MC Gursha Revolution 14/15, the youth to Business forum was just an idea which we all believed in, we put together an organizing committee headed by one of the members of the National support team to help achieve this idea. This idea came to life on the 18th of April, 2015 with the help of our National and workshop partners, Entrepreneurs from the Young Ethiopian Entrepreneurs association and also the delegates from 7 universities in Ethiopia. And ever since this achievement, we have been using this platform to inspire others to achieve greatness. As an individual, I strive to be the best I can be and aim for excellence in all my endeavors, this is a principle embedded in me through my association with the organization; AIESEC. AIESEC was founded in 1948 by a group of students that decided that through imparting the youth and cultural exchange programs we can achieve peace and fulfillment of human kind’s potential. The organization has since long evolved but never forgot the reason on which it was established. AIESEC in Ethiopia was established for this same purpose and has been working achieve our global vision since 2011. AIESEC in Ethiopia provides a platform where students and recent graduates have the opportunity to develop on their soft and hard skills, professional and personal experience through our team member/ team leader programs and our volunteer & professional internship experiences. To achieve this, we provide to organizations/companies a platform for them to CSR implementation plans by supporting them in the planning, implementation and providing volunteers. Also, we provide long and short term HR solutions for companies (paid or unpaid) to support in the day to day achievement of the organization’s vision. Also, we run 3 annual events which are aimed at impacting youths that aren’t directly involved in AIESEC and give them a platform to interact and gain insights from top executives from organizations. These events include: Ethiopia Youth to Business forum, Business Breakfast and Career Fair.We look forward to collaborating with more organizations and interested parties in empowering the youths with the resources and skills they need to achieve excellence in real time. I am honored to have gotten an opportunity to be impacted by AIESEC in Ethiopia and been able to create better experience for others through the business development portfolio.

AIESECly yours,Olaide Ogungbesan.National director for Business development and International Internships, AIESEC in Ethiopia 14/15.

Why We Do What We Do

AIESEC is a global platform for young people to explore and develop their potential. We are present in over 126 countries and territories, found in over 2,400 universities and work with over 5000 partner organizations. We are a non-political, independent, not-for-profit organization run by students and recent graduates of institutions of higher education. Since we were founded in 1948, we have engaged and developed over 1,000,000 young people who have been through an AIESEC experience. The impact of our organization can be seen through our alumni who represent business, NGO and world leaders, including one Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, Martti Atisaari of Finland. Our belief is that sustainable, informed and globally-minded leadership can help us solve many of today’s challenges. We provide young people with a global platform where they grow in confidence, gain experience and can perhaps fail but learn fast. They discover what really matters to them while creating a positive social impact.AIESEC in Ethiopia has been offering the young people of Ethiopia the opportunity to participate in international internships, experiential development programs and participate in a global learning environment since 2011. AIESEC in Ethiopia is currently present in Six Universities across Ethiopia and have given over 350 people the opportunity to volunteer within and outside Ethiopia for the purpose of community development and societal impact.
