AFYP Summer Internship Application Page 1 of 4 INTERNSHIP/JUNIOR COUNSELOR PROGRAM INFORMATION Acting for Young People offers internships for our Summer Acting Camp Program, part of Mason Community Academy’s summer programs at George Mason University in Fairfax. The internship program is designed to provide prior year interns, high school students, recent graduates and college students with an opportunity to learn about theater and theater education. Working with our camp staff, interns/junior counselors also get to learn from theater professionals with local and national credits, including Forum Theatre, 1 st Stage, Theater of the First Amendment, Steppenwolf & Wooly Mammoth Theater. Interns & Junior Counselors are paid a weekly stipend. General Information: Our summer programs run from June 15 – July 31, and Camp Sessions run from June 22 – July 24. The day starts at approximately 7:00 am and runs until approximately 4:00 pm. with options for later shifts and work in our aftercare program. There will be planning meetings and HR paperwork to be completed in the weeks prior to camp. Eligibility: A candidate must be age 16+ (junior or senior in high school or a college student). Prior theater training/experience is a plus. Application Procedures: Candidates must complete an application form and submit it with their cover letter and resume. Applicants must also provide a letter of recommendation, completed by a non-family member who knows your work. All application items bust be submitted as a complete package. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. Qualified applicants will be contacted for an interview to be held in April or May of 2020. DEADLINE EXTENDED!: Applications must be received by April 15, 2020. Please Submit by Email to [email protected] and include “Summer 2020 Internship Application” in the subject line.
