C hoose any moment of

any day and you’ll find

thousands of us at work.

OHSU torchbearers, united by the

singular vision to improve the health

and wellbeing of those we serve —

today, and in the future.

By design, OHSU can focus on health

in a way few other universities or

health care systems can. We’re a

public university devoted entirely

to education and research in health

sciences, and we serve our region’s

health needs as Oregon’s only

academic health center.

Shaped by Portland’s renowned

creative culture, we’ve learned that

transforming health for Oregonians

often lights the way for improving

health everywhere. So, each day, we

imagine what could be. We roll up our

sleeves. And we galvanize others to

join us. Because every moment counts.

Our torch never dims

Healing

OHSU is the top choice

of Oregonians for life-

threatening illnesses

and injuries. We offer

the largest number of

specialists and sub-

specialists in the region,

with teams trained in

complex care. We partner

with community hospitals

to bring more services to

more Oregonians.

Teaching

Oregon depends on OHSU

to train a significant

portion of the doctors,

dentists, scientists, public

health professionals,

nurses and others who

improve health in

their communities and

around the world. Our

interdisciplinary studies

create a close-knit student

community.

Discovery

Renowned scientists

are drawn to OHSU

by our track record of

research success and

our willingness to take

on some of the toughest

questions in medicine. We

are pushing the pace of

discovery for better health.

Outreach

OHSU is a public entity

that holds out a promise

to Oregonians to

improve their health and

wellbeing. To do this,

OHSU partners with more

than 200 community

service programs across

the state, with public

agencies, and with other

universities and hospitals.
