A2 Story Ideas Questionnaire
Part of my media studies coursework this year is to create a 5 minute long short
film, which can be on completely anything. This allows a lot of freedom and has left
me needing inspiration for a story idea from you my target audience. What I have sofar is that I am looking to have a male quirky lead in a romantic comedy. My target
audiences are girls 16-30, who would not typically describe themselves as girly.
1) Which age demographic appeals to you the most for a lead male character?
(Circle one)
10-15 16-20 21- 25
2)
Part of my initial idea is to have a narration, revealing a chain of events
where perhaps we see the young mans steps to winning the girl. Can you
think of ways the character could attempt to try and impress her?

....
3)
A further idea I have is to stray from conventions and produce something
more dark and comical. Perhaps the male lead goes to do a sweet gesture and
ends up gruesomely injuring her. Can you think of any other situations where
a typical Rom-Com could turn into something darker?
