Simulation Description

Operationally Based Visual Assessment (OBVA)

Supported a Joint NASA/DoD (Air Force) effort to develop a better than eye resolution visual flight simulation system to support objective assessment of pilot visual acuity.

Lunar Lander Simulation (LLS) Integrated a new visual image generation systems with existing cockpit projection display system in order to display the appropriate visual imagery for the Lunar Lander Simulation

Brown Out Symbology Simulation (BOSS) Integrated a special purpose helmet mounted display and head tracker system with existing host to image generation system to test the effectiveness of various head-down displays for piloted helicopter flight scenarios in brown-out dust wash situation.

Very Closed Spaced Parallel Approaches (VCSPS)

Technically supported deployment of a new digital video data acquisition technologies, and acquisition and post-production video editing for research presentations of data finding.

Space Shuttle Simulation (SSV) Supported complete reconstruction of 23 databases associated with the SSV simulation. The combined effect of the state-of-the-industry image generation, database design and cockpit display visual systems resulted in a significant improvement to the fidelity of SSV landing and rollout simulations.

International Space Station and Crew Exploration Vehicle Simulation (ISS and CEV)

Integrated a new image generator (IG) and cockpit displays in time to support production simulation schedules.

Vertical Motion Simulator (VMS) Led the ground up retrofit of the visual and voice communication data acquisition system for the VMS, the world’s largest full amplitude motion-based flight simulator.
