ConjunctionsConjunctions
Noun• Person, place, thing or idea
– Dog, cat, boy, lady, love, river, respect, city
Pronoun• Word used in place of a noun
– I, you, she, he, it, we, you, they
Verb• Two types…
– Action Verb: shows action• Turn, look, run, see, become, grow
– Linking Verb: links subject to noun or an adjective in the predicate part of the sentence• Is, are, was, were, am, been
Adjectives• Describes a noun or pronoun
– Beautiful sunset– Dedicated runner– Sunny morning
Preposition• Relates a noun or pronoun to
another word in the sentence.– In front of the cow.
• For, on, to, up, at, under, above, toward, with, between, in, from
Interjection• Expressive word
Wow, that is a beautiful car. Ah, what a cute baby.
Huh, what did you say?
Conjunction• Connects words or individual
groups of words– And, but, or, nor, for, so, yet, either,
neither
