22nd March 2018 Dear Parents, At the Family Mass this Sunday (5pm) we will celebrate Palm Sunday. Palm Sunday commemorates the entrance of Jesus into Jerusalem (Matthew 21:19), when palm branches were placed in his path, before his arrest on Holy Thursday and his crucifixion on Good Friday. Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week, the final week of Lent. On Thursday 29 th March, the students will act some of the key events of Holy Week through to Good Friday. This re-enactment will take place at 1pm. At 2:30pm the 2/3 class are going to present a Tree Storyplay to the whole school. Parents are most welcome to join us for the re-enactment and play. After the Easter break we will celebrate Easter as a school community. Sydney/ Canberra Camp 2020 Thank you to the current year 3 and 4 parents for providing feedback about our future Sydney/Canberra camp. At the beginning of the year we asked parents for feedback at our parent information night. We have also sent emails and newsletter reminders encouraging you to share your feedback. We are trying to make every effort to ensure future Sydney/Canberra camps are accessible and affordable for all families. School hat Monday 26th March-last chance to vote on the school hat design. Cross Country We will make every effort to move through the Cross Country events quickly on Friday. The longer events for the 12’s, 11’s, 10’s and 9’s will be run first so the students are not running long distances in the heat of the day. All students must wear sun cream and must pack plenty of water to drink. Water will also be available on the day. As a result of the school hats blowing off heads easily, students are permitted to wear alternate hats such as caps and visors while running. We encourage the students to wear the colours of their house. McKenna– Royal Blue Cosgrove- Maroon We plan to start the first race at 9:45am. Please make sure you sign your child out before you leave with them. Mrs Fogarty will have the roll books at the recording table. Peace and Best Wishes, Brendan From the Principal - Brendan OReilly
