Join us for a forest adventure for young children! This is a one-of-a-kindoutdoor immersion camp led by Laurel School faculty. Participants willexplore the magic of our 140-acre Butler Campus complete with woodedtrails, ponds and creeks, providing plenty of time for making naturediscoveries. Dress for the weather! We will be outdoors in all weather.In the event of lightening or high wind, our cozy Yurt will provideshelter. In order to participate, campers must be three years old at thetime of camp, secure in potty training and not be prone to running awayand hiding.

AdventureCamps

EXTREME ADVENTURE CAMP

Ages: Girls & Boys Entering Grades 7 - 8Dates: June 13 - 24Time: 9:00 am - 4:00 pmFormat: One, two-week session. First week is held at our Butler Campus.*

The second week consists of a 5 day, extreme adventure trip to Fayetteville, WV.*Shuttle service from Laurel’s Lyman Campus to the Butler Campus for the first week of camp is available for an additional charge.

Tuition: $1500 (Limited Space Available)

Extreme Adventure Camp is a two-week coed camp for incomingSeventh and Eighth Graders. The first week consists of adventurousactivities and field trips based at our Butler Campus. Field trips includeindoor rock climbing, mountain biking, and kayaking / paddle boarding.There will also be numerous activities and adventure games at ButlerCampus, including our Project Adventure Ropes Course. (Campers mustbring their own bike and be proficient in cycling and swimming.) Week 1will prepare students for our Extreme Adventure Trip (June 20 - 24) inFayetteville, West Virginia, where campers will camp in tents, go rafting,rock climbing, and go on the tree top canopy tour and zip lines! Pleasenote participants must be twelve years old at the time of camp;demonstrate the ability to follow directions; and complete a skillsassessment before going on the West Virginia trip.

DARING CAMP

Ages: Girls & Boys Entering Grades 3 - 4Dates: June 13 - August 5Time: 9:00 am - 4:00 pmFormat: Eight, one-week sessions designed around themes. Campers

Imaginations will soar as kids spend their days exploring the magicof our 140-acre Butler Campus replete with wooded trails, ponds andcreeks. Days will be filled with geocaching, fort-building, scienceexperiments, games, crafts, nature exploration, creek-walking, swimming(NEW!) and much more! Each week will be packed full of fun andimaginative activities revolving around weekly themes which will fostercuriosity and collaboration. And what better way to complete each daythan with Laurel’s Project Adventure Course? Campers will learn theimportance of teamwork as they experience the low-ropes and somehigh-ropes elements. Themes will be as follows:

Tuition: $420/session ($335 July 5 - 8)

Campers will explore mountain biking, climbing, paddle boarding,sailing and backpacking. Daily experiences will introduce new andexciting adventures at our 140-acre Butler Campus and will be enhancedby customized field trips focused on specific skills. This camp will enableyoung teens to challenge themselves individually and in group situations.Time will be spent on the 14 high- and low-rope elements offered onLaurel’s Project Adventure Ropes Course to help foster creative problemsolving, promote leadership and build self-confidence through improvedcommunication skills. Campers will need to come prepared with anadventurous spirit and a desire to have lots of fun! (Campers must bringtheir own bike and be proficient at cycling and swimming.)

This first-class soccer camp focuses on enhancing individual skills,building team tactics and teaching intricacies of the game. In additionto soccer skills, campers will spend time in our state-of-the-art 16,000-square-foot fitness center while working with Laurel’s certifiedStrength and Conditioning Coach to learn about lifting techniques,agility, speed, ACL injury prevention and nutrition. Campers will finishthe program with a personalized workout plan for the summer.

Coaching Staff: Tibi Regele – Head Varsity Soccer Coach at Laurel School, Tibi played inthe Youth National Budapest Team and played professional soccer inHungary until 1994. Tibi has coached high school soccer in Clevelandsince 2005. In 2011, he led Laurel’s soccer team to the state finals.

Nicole Nanchoff – Assistant Coach at Laurel School, Nicole playedsoccer at Walsh Jesuit where she won one national championshipand two state championships. She then played Division I soccer atDuquesne University and played semi-professionally for the ClevelandInternationals W-League team. She was the Assistant Coach at ClevelandState University for one season and assistant coached the state runners-up Laurel soccer team.

TRI-It! This camp is designed for beginner triathletes that havecompetitive swimming or running experience. Find out why triathlon isone of the fastest growing sports in America and learn about NCAAscholarships for female athletes! USA Triathlon certified coaches(including Dr. Karen Edwards, Director of Afterschool and Summerat Laurel) will teach basic skills for completing your first triathlon.Learn open water skill techniques, bike-handling skills (including braking,riding in a group and safety skills) and running to maximize speed andminimize impact. Transition skills and strength and conditioning forendurance sports will also be covered. Tuition includes coaching,transportation to swim venue and lunch. Basic swim proficiency isrequired. Athletes must bring bicycle, helmet, swimsuit and running shoes.

ALL camps in session the first week of camp will participate in a special Opening Day on Monday, June 13 at the Lyman Campus.Details on the event will be shared with all week-one participants in early June.
