  • 2016 CUB SCOUT & WEBELOS SUMMER CAMP AT CAMP TUCKAHOE

Greetings from our Camp Director! Dear Parents and Leaders, How time flies! I cant help but reflect on that fact as I write to welcome all of you to this, our 2016 Program Highlights Guide. Its hard to believe its been a decade since the New Camp Tuckahoe opened in 2003. Introducing a whole generation of Scouts to the new facilities in Cub World, opening our new cabins, Dining Hall, and swimming pool, and establishing new campsites certainly made for an exciting summer! More importantly, there can be no doubt that those investments certainly made a positive impact on our program over the years. Those improvements also ushered in the practice of introducing something new each summer to keep our program fresh and exciting. We dedicate a significant amount of time each summer to reviewing all of the helpful feedback we receive, and the result is a program I consider among the best weve ever offered. So, whats new for Cub and Webelos Resident Camp?

All of our camp-wide activities will have a MEDIEVAL theme. All Program Area Requirements are based on the new Cub Scout and Webelos Scout Requirements New Cub Scout Shooting Sports Requirements for both BB and Archery Select Program Areas will offer Tiger Cub Requirements for Open Program Time New Requirements added to the Tuckahoe Rangers Program

All of these new activities and more are detailed in the pages that follow. As you look through this Guide, remember that this is just one of several booklets well be publishing to help you prepare for summer camp. The first half of the Leaders Guide explains our schedule, activities, and advancement opportunities. Parents and leaders alike will want to read about our summer plans and share them with their Scouts! The second half details all of the procedures, rules, and forms youll need to make a reservation and arrive at camp. This will be most helpful to the Cubmaster or Camping Chair. With that, I hope that youll share my excitement as we draw closer to summer. Remember that our Open House will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2016, and Ill look forward to welcoming each and every one of you to camp!
