The Physical & Mental Health Committee of LVAC hosted an event with the

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Eta Chi Chapter of UNLV, focusing on Domestic

Violence Awareness. S.T.O.M.P. (Standing Together Opposing Misuse of Power)

is a signature program of LVAC. The program held on October 25, 2014,

focused on STOMPing OUT Dating Abuse.

Las Vegas Alumnae Chapter Community Service

LVAC partnered with St. Jude’s Ranch for Children providing support with

back to school shopping at Kohl’s, for the 2014-2015 school year. In October

2014, LVAC sponsored a Nacho night at the St.Jude’s Ranch, in Boulder City,

NV.

ADOPT A SPOT LVAC collaborated with the City of Las Vegas for the Adopt-A-Spot program. Chapter mem-

bers began cleaning the park area and block of 1900 J Street, near Doolittle Community

Center, in August 2014. The official sign was revealed in February 2015.

TRIBUTE! TRIBUTE! TRIBUTE!

The 5th Annual TRIBUTE! Awards was held on No-

vember 2, 2014, at the Aliante Hotel & Casino. The

major fundraising event of Las Vegas Alumnae

Chapter, for educational scholarships, honored

KCEP Radio Station 88.1, and community leaders

who exemplify the public service mission of Delta

Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. The annual event is held

the first weekend in November.

DELTA DAY HONORS

The Las Vegas Alumnae Chapter was recognized

and honored by the cities of Henderson, Las Vegas,

and North Las Vegas, NV, respectively, declaring

“Delta Sigma Theta Day”. Chapter members were

presented with Proclamations from each city by

council members during the months of January and

February 2015.

LVAC and NPHC The National Pan-Hellenic Council, Las

Vegas Alumnae Chapter, held several events

throughout the year to support national and

community programs. Members of LVAC

volunteered at the Las Vegas Rescue

Mission, attended the movie Selma, and

supported the local Al’s Italian Beef

Restaurant with the local NPHC Chapter.
