Jane Eyre adapted by Polly TealeCygnet Company director alistair Ganley

Charlotte Bronte’s classic novel of romance and mystery comes to Cygnet Theatre in a new vibrant production.

Moving to Thornfield hall as Governess, Jane meets the brooding Mr rochester, her emotions blossom and marriage beckons. however, rochester hides a secret which threatens to tear them apart.

‘Polly Teale’s adaptation (for Shared Experience) faithfully recreates the intense world of the novel whilst bringing the undercurrent of passion and desire to glorious theatrical life.

Polly Teale has liberated Jane Eyre in a way that Charlotte Bronte could not… Her most inspired idea is to fuse the mad woman in the attic with Jane’s younger self…. Seeing this show is like an amazing speed read.’ (OBSERVER)
