We are called as the followers of the Lord

We are called indeed Alleluia

And so we gather. In the name of the father…

Follow me, follow me, leave your home and family, Leave your fishing nets and boats upon the shore. 

Leave the seed that you have sown, leave the crops that you have grown, leave the people you have known and follow me. 

1. The foxes have their holes, and the swallows have their nests, 

but the son of man has no place to lay down. 

I do not offer comfort, I do not offer wealth, 

but in me will all happiness be found. 

2. If you would follow me, you must leave old ways behind. 

You must take my cross and follow on my path. 

You may be far from loved ones, you may be far from home, 

but my father will welcome you at last. 

3. Although I go away you will never be alone. 

for the spirit will be there to comfort you. 

Though all of you may scatter, each follow his own path, 

still the spirit of love will lead you home.

Lord, you are the way for us to follow, Lordhave mercy. Lord, have mercy.

You are the Truth of life, Christ have mercy. Christ, have mercy.

You offer life in its fullness to us, Lord havemercy. Lord, have mercy.

I wonder what you heard in the Gospel today?

Why did Jesus decide to set off in a boat with his apostles?

What did Jesus find when he crossed the lake?

Do you think Jesus was annoyed to see people waiting for him?

How can we be a good teacher to others?

When Jesus reached the other side of the lake he was filled with compassion and love when he saw the people waiting for him. They

were waiting like a flock of sheep for their Good Shepherd.

Jesus is a teacher and he sat with the people on the hillside and taught them. Knowing that Jesus was the Good Shepherd the people listened

to him.

We would like to invite someone from each class to collect a picture of Jesus teaching others. As you collect this picture think about how you

can be a teacher just like Jesus today.

For the courage to follow Christ and share his Gospel of love and forgiveness with others.Lord, in your mercy…

For the courage to follow Christ when it means standing up for what is right.Lord, in your mercy…

For the courage to follow Christ and serve him in whatever way he asks.Lord, in your mercy…

For the courage to follow Christ’s example of putting the needs of others before our own.Lord, in your mercy…

Loving Father,

Help us to follow Christ’s call to follow where he leads, trusting in the love of the Shepherd who shows us the way to your kingdom. We ask this through Christ your Son.
