Pekerau School Won School Spirit Trophy
On Monday night I attended the “Kids for Kids”
concert in Hamilton where our choir were sing-
ing. It was a wonderful night and our children all
sang and conducted themselves extremely well.
A highlight of the evening for the school was
Raiha being chosen to sing a solo with Nathan
King. She sang beautifully and she won the
hearts of the audience with her wonderful voice.
Well done Raiha you made us all very proud.
Well done also to Nicole who was chosen to
play the ukulele with 5 other children. She per-
formed extremely well and again made us all
feel very proud. Many thanks to Jude Ericksen
and Liz Diprose for preparing the children so
well for this wonderful event. Many thanks also
to the parents who attended to support their chil-
dren.
And finally a reminder that my door is always
open. If for any reason you would like to have a
chat about anything that may be happening at
school please feel free to come in. I might not
be able to solve all your concerns but I will listen
and do my very best to make sure that your
child’s time at our school is a happy and safe
experience.

Is there anybody out there with an inner artist just waiting
for the right project?
I know it’s not in New Zealanders nature to say you are good at something but please don’t be shy. As you know we have a new wall / fence built between the senior block and the neighbours. This is for our children’s art work to be displayed on. It is going to be an outdoor art gallery. We need your help to paint it. If you are able to give some of your valuable time to this project please contact the school. We will collect names and then get in touch to see if we can meet at a convenient time for everyone and develop a plan of attack. Even if you don’t have an artistic bone in your body we will still need help to paint areas in plain colour.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
We are in the throes of getting ready for our SCHOOL PRODUCTION. This year the whole school will be taking part. The story line is based on the night before Christmas when all the toys come to life. If you have any skills in costume making, prop painting, hair and make- up or choreography, and you would like to contribute in some way, please contact the school office and let them know. It is an exciting time and an experience that all the children will remember forever. We would love you to be a part of it.
Thank you to the wonderful response for hot soup Friday fundraisers over the winter term. This is the last hot soup Friday for the year as the weather is heating up! Look out for our summer cooler
