    CHEVALIER has developed these series of DCL Type Double Column Vertical Machining Centers Series for high performance high productivity, high rigidity and high precision machining. Roller type linear guideways design on X/Y axes offer high feed rates. Excellent direct drive spindle with 10,000rpm(Option) achieve high performance and excellent workpiece surface accuracy.

    These series of machines are very suitable for high-tech components, and moulds machining, such as Aero space industries, 3C industriies, LCD/TFT, Plastic mould & Automobile industrials.

    03 Machine ConstructionExtremely Rigid Structure

    Outstanding Structural Design

    Large Size Double Column combined with cross rail, reveal perfect machine rigidity.

    The ladder type bridge used high class linear roller guideways providing stability and accuracy for Y axis.

    Unique exclusive design of spindle, and spindle center position is closed to the bridge center, to achieve consistent accuracy and smooth movement especially to keep cutting rigidity.

    Linear ways design on X/Y axes, heavy duty box ways on Z axis. Z axis travel is 1000mm. RAM type design, square box way is 400*400mm providing powerful machining capacity.

    Linear guideway design on X/Y axes, heavy duty box ways on Z axis(X/Y axes used hollow ballscrews and coolant circulation on the ballscrews.)The optimum design of geometric mechanics makes the table to bear the load suitable for high speed operation. Furthermore the Box ways Z axis design achieves smooth moving and great cutting rigidity.

    Extremely Rigid Structure

    Machine column is tightly fixed of both sides of column. Thus the machine rigidity is ensured, and the machine deformation is reduced to minimum.

    One piece casting iron is stability of Column and Base, Expecially Column dwsing by Box type, and cause of the Base assemble perfect.

    06 Control SystemUser Friendly Design and High Performance ControlThe Control box design means human engineering theorem. It can be swing for added convenience of operation. The control box is equipped with a M.P.G. handwheel for increasing convenience of set up.

    In addition to Fanuc Control, Heidenhain and Siemens Controls are also available, thus these machines provide versatility to meet various application requirements.

    06 Excellent SpindleExcellent spindle characteristics DCL series equipped with perfect spindle.Exclusive design BT50/10,000rpm direct drive spindle.(Option)

    High Speed High Reliability Spindle:Standard spindle 6,000rpm-Gear transmission6,000rpm spindle speed is standard with 2-step gear transmission. The spindle incorporates roller type spindle bearings for extremely high cutting rigidity. The 2-step gear transmission provides 560N-m torque output at 375rpm ideal for machining hard material. (As Shown in the Figure)

    8,000rpm spindle is available for diverse requirements. The design of 2-step gear transmission is complimented with a powerful AC digital spindle motor and roller type bearings. The 8,000rpm spindle is capable of reaching up to 26kW(Opt.) and 662N-m torque output at 375rpm. DCL series can easily achieve 1,000 cc/min. chip removal rate and increase productivity.

    10,000rpm IDD spindle is optional to be equipped with DCL series. Driven by 22kW dual step AC digital spindle motor, the spindle is able to reach max. 36N-m torque output at 500rpm. Unique IDD design offers low spindle vibration and optimal heat isolation that results excellent accuracy after long-term operation. (Opt.)

    Gearbox Ideal for Heavy andHigh Speed CuttingThe 50 taper, cartridge type, air purged, 6000rpm spindle is driven by a ZF gearbox with a low speed range for extra high torque output during heavy cutting and a high speed range for high speed finishing. In addition, the spindle, bearings and gears employ a forced cooling system to prevent thermal deformation and maintain accuracy.

    Quick Tool ChangerThe double arm type ATC features random access, bi-directional tool indexing and can fetch tools up to 350mm long, 225mm wide and weight up to 20kgs, and tool changing time is 5 seconds (Tool to tool).

    Comprehensive Cooling SystemA coolant jet stream around the spindle, along with a side cooling system, provide adequate cooling for the cutting tool and workpiece. This prevents material build-up at the tool’s edge, helping it keep its sharpness while preventing breakage and more importantly, eliminate thermal deformation of the workpiece.

    Cooling system include coolant-thru-toolholder and coolant-thru-spindle devices. These devices employ a high pressure coolant blast that cools the heat source and wipes away the chips during continuous, deep hole machining.(Option)
