And in the beginning there where excellent peoplebut this was not enough

Then there came excellent groups bound to excellent Institutions and all were Networked

but this was not enough

And they started to create Hyper Networks but this was not enough

Then they invented the GRID but they did not know the difference

And therefore they created the Cyber NetworkBut is this enough? Future will tell!

Once upon a time, not very long ago

Networking and Flexibility I

Strategic and organizational orientation of information facilities: Grouping of resources

• Capable facilities are required

• New task sharing, new organizational structures (flexibility)

• Configuration of an European information and knowledge network of information facilities (own data collections, licensed content, basic information and value-added services)

Networking and Flexibility II

Multidisciplinary knowledge network• Interdisciplinary network for scientific information• Homogeneous access, no isolated applications

Innovative focused knowledge platforms in science• Communication and information platforms and platforms for the exchange of information• Pre-print publication of results• Exchange of information by new forms of production, publication and distribution of scientific information; "digital knowledge rooms, audio-visual knowledge pools"

unknown Ladies and Gentlemen who put

their fantastic presentations

into the Net and so enabling me to prepare
