Foys Kirribilli is proudly housed in the Sydney Flying Squadron, Australia’s oldest open boat sailing club founded in 1891. Our objective at Foys is to deliver hospitality that is befitting of our unique harbourside location and heritage. We’re motivated by delivering memorable experiences for our guests and continuing the long and colourful history of this iconic venue.

The restaurant boasts serene views over Careening Cove and Milson Park, with an airy light-filled interior that opens out onto the waterfront balcony. The downstairs wharf provides a casual open-air zone to take in the harbour. Together these spaces make the perfect environment for all kinds of events – from corporate lunches to birthdays, engagements and more.

Our menu, designed by Executive Chef Anthony O’Shea, features modern bistro cuisine with a focus on fresh seafood and seasonal produce. We’ve partnered with a number of local suppliers to showcase the best of Australian produce. We also have an extensive wine list featuring local and imported varietals, carefully selected to complement the ingredients and flavours featured on the menu.

An airy, light-filled space suitable for large gatherings. When you book the main diner exclusively, you also gain access to the sunset balcony, with stunning harbour views.

The perfect spot to take in the dynamic hues of Sydney sunsets, the Sunset Balcony boasts views across Careening Cove to the eastern suburbs.

Capacity The main diner can accommodate up to 120 guests for a sit-down function or 220 guests for a stand-up cocktail event.

Hire fee & minimum spend To book the Main Diner exclusively, there is a hire fee of $2,500 and the following minimum spends apply:

A beautifully finished bar with natural timber aspects adjoined to the Private Dining Room, the Saloon Bar is ideal for small to medium sized gatherings and provides the perfect break-out space for Private Dining Room functions.

The perfect space for an intimate group, bathed in natural light and decorated with historical sailing memorabilia. The Private Dining Room is ideal for corporate meetings and small gatherings.

Capacity The Saloon Bar is available for up to 40 guests for stand-up cocktail events.

Minimum spend To book the Saloon Bar exclusively, there is a hire fee of $500 and the following minimum spends apply:

availability hire of the venue is subject to availability and club approval.

duration your event is based on the agreed upon hours. events begin strictly at the organised time on your event run sheet. we are not able to service early arrivals and guests may be asked to wait outside the premises until the organised start time. if guests insist on staying later than the agreed end time you will incur an additional fee of $500 per half hour. all events must finish by 12 midnight.

deposit, payment terms & agreement form to confirm your booking we require an initial security deposit of 20 per cent of the minimum spend (credited towards the final account). this is required within 7 days of making your reservation and, once paid, reflects your recognition and agreement with the terms and conditions outlined in this package.

once you have confirmed your booking, we also require a signed and completed copy of the security & agreement form - this is to be returned within 7 days. foys kirribilli holds the right to cancel any bookings not held with a deposit payment and completed security & agreement form.

full payment for your event is due 14 days prior to the event date, no later. any additional food or beverage consumed on the day must be paid for before the end of the event.

payment by cash, direct debit or bank cheque incurs no surcharge. any payments of $500 or more paid by credit card will incur a 1.5% surcharge – mastercard, visa or a 2% surcharge for american express only. small increments paid by credit card to avoid the surcharge are not accepted.

a 10% surcharge applies on sundays and 15% on public holidays.

hire fee & minimum spend the hire fee provides for exclusive use of the space and coordination costs. it does not count towards the minimum spend. the minimum spends specified in this event package apply to your event. should your guest numbers fall short of the minimum spend, the full minimum tariff will be charged.

final numbers & menu selection the guaranteed number of guests attending the event is required at least 14 days prior to the event for catering and staffing needs. once final numbers are given this will be taken as confirmed. catering will be provided for this number and this will be the minimum charged irrespective of last minute cancellations. guest cancellations cannot be credited towards other elements of your event including additional styling.

all final food and beverage selections are also required at least 14 days prior to the event. all food is subject to seasonal change, however notification will be given for this. no byo food is permitted, except cakes which incur a cakage fee.

cancellation policy whilst we understand, due to unforeseen circumstances, it may be necessary to cancel or postpone your event, the following conditions apply:

• all cancellations or change of date made incur a loss of full deposit. no credits will be given for change of date or for the general restaurant trade.

• all cancellations made less than 14 days of your event will incur a loss of all monies due as stated on your invoice. • cancellations must be confirmed to foys kirribilli in writing. due to unforeseen circumstances, extreme weather conditions or accidents, foys kirribilli reserves the right to cancel any booking and refund any deposit or payments made.

prices foys kirribilli makes every effort to maintain prices, however they may be subject to alteration prior to your event due to food and beverage price increases. however we will guarantee that any increase will not exceed 7% of your chosen package. all prices are inclusive of gst.

gratuity a 5 per cent gratuity applies to all events. this goes directly to staff and does not count towards the minimum spend.

security organisers/hosts are financially liable for any damage sustained, or loss incurred to foys kirribilli property, fixtures or fittings, through their own actions, those of their guests, sub-contractors and contractors. credit card details are required at the time of your booking to cover any damages that may occur. the security & agreement form will be supplied to you on the day of your booking to fill out and return to the event coordinator within 7 days. credit card details are the only form of security accepted.

alcohol and decorum foys kirribilli is a fully licensed venue. no byo beverages are permitted. it is your responsibility to ensure the orderly conduct of your guests. we are required by law to provide responsible service of alcohol and therefore reserve the right to cease or suspend service and supply of alcoholic beverages should we feel that guests have become excessively inebriated. all beverages are subject to seasonal change, however notification will be given for this.

due care whilst our team will take care, no responsibility will be taken for damage or loss of goods, equipment or merchandise left on the premises prior to, during or after the event.

cleaning fee a cleaning fee will be charged, at the discretion of management, should the premises be left in an unacceptable state.

additional (supplier) meals meals for entertainers, photographers and videographers are supplied @ $35.00 per head. this includes a main sit down meal in their break, and non-alcoholic drinks throughout the event.

under 18’s meals guests under 18 will be charged the food package and an additional $8.00 per head for non-alcoholic beverages for the duration of the event. for children requiring children’s meals and drinks, the cost is $25.00 per head (children under 12 years only).

decor and styling all major furniture items, fixtures and fittings must remain as styled and positioned by foys kirribilli. foys works with preferred suppliers for additional styling services. please contact us for details.

nothing is to be nailed, screwed, blue-tacked or adhered in any way to any wall, door or other part of foys kirribilli. all decorations must be approved by the event coordinator at least 14 days prior to the event. the following items are not permitted at your event: confetti, rice, streamer poppers, or sequin type scatters eg. stars, hearts.

delivery and collection of goods all goods are to be delivered to your event coordinator one day prior to the event. foys kirribilli does not have the capacity to store goods more than one day prior to an event. all goods must be removed on completion of the event unless prior arrangements have been made with your event coordinator. should all goods not be collected by 9am the following morning, a $500 fee will be charged for each day they are left at the venue. foys kirribilli will not accept responsibility for any items not collected within the agreed timeframe.

external contractors all external contractors and hire must be advised to foys kirribilli 14 days prior to your event and are subject to approval by management. foys kirribilli can apply limits or time restrictions on the contractors.

foys kirribilli has established relationships with professional hire companies and recommended suppliers to look after all your equipment needs and services. please contact us for details.

entertainment/music all equipment required for entertainment and music must be supplied by your hired band or dj as foys kirribilli does not have facilities for this. music sound levels must be kept at a particular pitch level due to the space and noise restrictions.

tastings for events with 80 guests or more, foys kirribilli offers a complementary menu tasting with wine sampling for 2 people. selections will be based on your selected food and beverage packages, however there may be some variance based on seasonal availability. tastings are available between 2pm and 5pm tuesday to saturday, subject to availability.

damages and loss to the extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any loss, damage, liability, claims or expenses (however caused, including negligence and whether direct, indirect or consequential) incurred by the client, their guests, their employees or any contractors engaged by them, arising from the use of or connected with the venue.

indemnity foys kirribilli guarantees the use of the freshest ingredients and ensures that food is prepared under the most hygienic conditions. however no liability is taken by foys kirribilli for any latent defect in any product used.

food allergies please advise details of guests with food allergies when confirming final numbers. whilst the chefs and kitchen teams will do their utmost to ensure the said allergen is not in the meals prepared, we cannot guarantee it as our kitchen does use a wide variety of ingredients on a daily basis.

public liability insurance foys kirribilli does hold public liability insurance however all external suppliers will be required to have their own public liability insurance. foys kirribilli public liability insurance is very specific to our venue and fit out. no harm or damage to guests caused by any external supplier equipment, styling decor, furniture or goods are covered by foys kirribilli.
