Background and Why• I have used paperwork and different media platform

to send out my questionnaire to my audience (Facebook, whatsapp and email) a my target audience are digital natives and they would more likely to use their converged devices to check messages etc. It is more easier to get the result from the questionnaire as most of my friends are from Hong Kong and through this method I can contact with them very easily. Therefore I have managed to get all 30 results back from the target audiences and I am going to note down and analysis the result and apply their feeling and opinion to my magazine.

Question 3• As people can access to the internet very easily nowadays,

people do not tend to read any music magazine before, the social media also provide a lot of news and gossip about different artist. Especially because my target audience are mostly digital natives and they have less income as they are still studying, so that they do not tend to buy a pop music magazine. As the internet is very easy to access, I will have my own brand’s radio station and maybe digital TV channel specifically for my magazine, so that the audience can know about my brand from different media platform and therefore I can bring the audience back to buy my magazine (As they are younger audience than Billboard so they are digital natives but more sophisticated than Top of the Pops magazine)

Question 4• As my target audience are young unsophisticated

foxthinker, they are more likely to get distracted by the pictures of the artist and also they do not really want to read a lot of text as they might feel boring. Instead they might be interested in looking at the pictures of the artist.

Question 5• My audience would want to see a solo girl artists

featured on the magazine as some of the male audience thinks that a female artist could attract more heterosexual audience as she would put herself into the male gaze. On the other hand the female audience would more likely to expect a female artist as she might give out personal identity to the audience which the audience will follow her. The successful female artist can also link to the empowerment with the female, which can apply to David Daunlett’s theory

Question 6• My audience tend to want to know more about the

career of the artist because from her story it can gives out personal identity to the audience and also it can let the audience know more about the disadvantage and advantage as an artist. Moreover a career story can based on a narrative structures such as the binary opposition, which can appeal to unsophisticated audience.

coverlines on my magazine as the coverlines can tell the audiences what inside the magazine as well as given out information to the audience. Same as the coverlines, the audience expect 4 images because they think if there are too many images on the cover page the audience will have less focus on the my main cover artist.

about the shot type on my magazine, however most of them would prefer a medium shot of the artist. This is because the audience can also see the clothing of the artist from the shot and they also think medium shot connotes more powerful than the others. Moreover showing the clothing fit into the postmodern consumerist society, as the millennials will purchase items to show the identity of themselves

Question 10• My audience has chosen Font type E is more

appropriate for my magazine as they think the style of bold, sharp, large and casual will be suitable for a pop magazine which is aiming at 18-24. The font type makes the audience feel very ‘casual’, which stereotype of boys and it can appeal to male audiences.

Question 11• The audience would prefer to pay for the price

between 3-3.99 pounds because most of them have at least got a part time job with a slightly less amount of income. As most of my target audience are still studying in college/university, they haven’t got too much money to afford a very expensive pop magazine. Therefore they have picked the price that they would expect or they are be able to afford.

Question 12• Most of my target audience has chosen the style of

the content page within the Billboard magazine. This is because their content looks very sophisticated than the other option and it tells a lot of detail and information about the magazine through the page. However, as the genre of pop is a mainstream genre so part of the audience are maintain into unsophisticated, the audience will pick a sophisticated layout because the aspirational of becoming more sophisticated as they are growing up.

Question 13• Most of my audience has chosen red colour as the

colour scheme of the magazine as they think the colour of red could attract more attention from the audiences. Also as they feels the colour of red connotes love, which it can attract the audience as the colour link to the dominant ideologies of finding a partner. Also it connotes the passion for the music and the artists, which he/she can motivate the audience to achieve their dream

Conclusion • Through the questionnaire I can be able to figure out how my

audience feels about my pop magazine as well as combine their suggestion so I would know what should I do and improve for my magazine and my coursework.
