38

Compatibility

• A team member user that is currently using the Mobile app v8.1

can upgrade to Mobile app v8.2 even if the company’s

deployment of Team Member Web Services is still v8.1.

• A team member user that is currently using the Mobile app v8.1

will not be able to login if the company’s deployment of Team

Member Web Services has been upgraded to v8.2.

• Starred Tasks - Prior to 8.2 release, star functionality was only

available in the mobile app and was saved locally to the mobile

device. In v8.2, we are saving the starred state to the P6

database so that users of mobile and tm web app can see the

same tasks starred.

Overview

E-Mail Statusing Updates

• This functionality allows the user to request a list of their Tasks

directly from P6, via e-mail, using the P6 Team Member E-mail

Statusing Service. This offers all the advantages of the P6 Team

Member Mobile App with the benefit of not being device-specific.

• The process involves four basic steps:

• The user requests a list of Tasks (i.e Resource Assignments)

• The system retrieves the list of Tasks and E-mails the list to

the user

• The user E-mails back the changes to be made

• The system updates the Tasks and sends a confirmation E-

mail

40

The Process:

Step 1: The user requests a list of Tasks (i.e Resource

Assignments).

• User sends e-mail to designated address and formats the

subject line as <Status> <Time Period> <Project>.

• Status and Time Period are usually combined for example

“Active in the next 10 days”.

• Specifying the Project is optional, only one project at a time can

be requested by either the Project ID or Project Name.

• If the subject line format is not correct and the body of the e-mail

is blank, a return e-mail will be sent with instructions for how to

use the update by e-mail functionality.

Step 2: System Retrieves List

43

Step 3: The user E-mails back the changes to be made

• There are two ways to do this:

• Reply to the E-mail and edit the data in-line.

Or click the “Update this task” link for a task you wish to

update.

• Either of these options will generate a new E-mail.
