Strange Birds
A series of birds in watercolor and markerBy Linda Ursin
Why Strange Birds?I wanted to do a series of birds in watercolor and I wanted it to be playful, different and a creative challenge both for me and the viewer.
So I decided to call the series Strange Birds since they were meant to be just that, strange.
I had just finished the 100 Sacred Symbols and knew I wouldn’t want it to be that long, so I listed 15 European birds that I would do for the series.
Young Magpie in Purple
Blue Sparrow with Attitude
Motionless Magenta Hummingbird
Strutting Eagle in Green
Vain Raven in Orange
Yellow Soprano Swallow
Plum Pigeon in Flight
Green and Blue Kung Fu Crane
Stylish Spotted Seagull
Ogling Multicolored Owl
Determined Mottled Mallard
Hungry Azure Hoopoe
Confident Carrot-Top Cygnet
Diving Rose Dipper
Hopping Dashed Hawk
Where are they now?All the 15 birds are now finished. 6 of them already have a new home, but there are still 9 other birds for you to adopt over in the webshop.

All of the birds, including those that have gone to good homes, are available as prints and designs on my redbubble account.
