In her words:
As a child my first canvas was my grandma’s walls. Any new wallpaper was new canvas for me. I always had pencils and color pens in my hands. My passion for art is rooted in my childhood; like an abstraction or surreal reality.
This passion shapes my vision of my art to this day. Even in creations, in their eventual decay, there is unexpected beauty. I work to capture this visually in my art.
As far as a particular medium is concerned, I personally prefer oil paints. I find it has a transparent quality and due to its much longer drying time allows me the best ability to blend colors into the infinite variations found in the natural world.
Notable:
Milica Jelisavcic was born in Bajina Basta, Serbia in 1984. Showing an early talent for painting, she had her first show at age seven. After attending the secondary School of Design in Belgrade, Serbia, Milica was accepted to the prestigious Braca Karic Academy of Fine Arts, finishing at the top of her class.
Milica has had over twenty exhibits to date.
“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” ~ Pablo Picaso
PAINTINGSPUMPKINS
“Pumpkins” was my first series on a particular subject. The inspiration came when, several years ago when my Grandma brought home a pumapkin. As the days went by, I noticed how the pumpkin changed; at first ripening golden autumn hues and then eventually maturing into a rich color splendor.
These pumpkins seemed to me to be in their own unique worlds, yet bound by a common, powerful metaphor of birth, growth and decay present in all of nature.

BUTTERFLIES
The butterfly displays all of natures colors and textures. In an infinite combination of hues and shades, the butterfly is truly a flower untethered.
The butterfly is a flying flower. The flower a tethered butterfly.

T I N Y P A I N T I N G S
A bit of whimsy.
An invitation to come closer. A challenge to the observer to work a bit harder to see all that is really there. To be rewarded by what is found.
Perhaps a good idea for living in general.

My goal as an artist is to create images that evoke feeling and thought in myself as well as the observer. If this is accomplished then something will have been given and gained. The “nature of art” will continue its discussion.
