• Open Papyrus capitals with various decoration. The vertical stems in the top left and top right columns are alternative lily and papyrus, representing upper and lower Egypt.  Most elaborately ornate capitals date from Ptolomaic times.

• In den Jahren 1963 bis 1968 übernahm HOCHTIEF die Federführung in einer internationalen Arbeitsgemeinschaft zur Rettung der 3 250 Jahre alten Felsentempel von Abu Simbel in Ägypten. Mit dem Bau des Assuandamms drohten die Tempel im Stausee zu versinken. Sie wurden in 1 041 Blöcke zersägt und 64 Meter höher und 180 Meter landeinwärts wieder aufgebaut. Seit 1979 steht Abu Simbel auf der UNESCO-Liste für Weltkulturerbe
