Rennie 1-78 Group
Rennie Township Ontario
Location and Access————————————————————————— 42B05NW0086 0017A1 RENNIE 010
This group of 4 unsurveyed claims is in the southwest quarter of Rennie Township, Ontario. The southeast corner of the property is on the northwest shore of Rennie Lake.
Close to the south shore of the lake, there is an all weather mine roac which may be followed to the south and west for some 8 miles to the village of Missanabie.
Claims and Numbers
The.".e are: -
S.S.M. 522203 to S.S.M. 522206 and comprise some 160 acres.
Linecutting
Picket lines 400' apart with station intervals of 100' were cut and chained.
Some 4.1 miles of this work was done by McClemens Geo physics Limited, Contractors of Noranda Quebec in the period Oct ober 20, to 23, 1978.

MeSPetic Survey
Assessment Data
The instrument used was a McPhar M700 Fluxgate magnetometer. Readings were taken at all of the 100* line stations and at a number of intermediate 50' ones as well. The usual diurnal and datum adjustments were made and the corrected results were plotted and then contoured.
Some 295 (base, sub-base and line) stations were re*d in the period October 24, to 28, 1978 by McClemens Geophysics.
2. Magnetic Results
Geological mapping shows that most of the property is underlain by amphibolite. There is, however, an -amphibolite-granite contact on the east side of the grid close to the Tie Line.
The narrow lenticular northerly trending closures on
the western side of the grid are caused by random disper sions of magnetic minerals rather than having a formational origion.
H.E.M. Survey
1. Assessment Data
The instrument used was a Geonics EM17 Horizontal Loop unit. The coil separation was 300' and the coil configuration was horizontal co-planar. The frequency was 1600 Hz.
•XJFV: ' Ir-
m- -;K' personnel.
Some 170 phase and out of phase readings were taken concurrently with the magnetic work by McClemen's
H,E.M. Kes'ults
One conductor was located. It has fair conductivity, is narrow and is not deeply covered. It is remarkably coincident with a topographic depression found in the course of the geological survey.
Conclusion
The conductor can be the expression of a weakly mineralized shear or fault zone. In view of the prox imity of the Renabie mine this feature may have economic possibilities. These can be checked by a reasonably short packcack drill hole collared on bed rock at 1400 E on Line 4N.

Line cut t ing
Picket lines 400' apart with station intervals of 100 1 were cut and chained.
Some 5.1 miles of this work was done by McClemens Geo physics Limited, Contractors of Noranda Quebec in the period Oct. 29, to 31, 1978.
Magnetic Survey
l . Assessment Data
The instrument used was a McPhar M700 Fluxgate magnetometer. Readings were taken at all of the 100' stations and a considerable number of intermediate 50' ones as well. The usual diurnal and datum adjustments were made and the corrected results were plotted and then contoured.
.Some 375 (base, sub-base and line) stations were
read in the period Nov. l to 5, 1978 by McClemens Geo physics.
Magnetic Results
Geological mapping has shown the property to be mostly underlain by rhyolite. On the lake side of the grid there is a rhyolite-granite contact and in the north west corner a rhyolite- amphibolite contact.
A number of lenticular magnetic closures were found. Two of these are associated with conductors. These are:
1. a sinuous closure extending from 1400 W on Line 16S to 12W on Line 12N.
2. an intermittent closure extending from 2000 W on Line 12S to 2200 W on Line O.
H, E. M. Survey
1. Assessment Data
The instrument used was a Geonics EM17 Horizontal Loop unit. The coil configuration was horizontal co-planar and the spacing 300'. The frequency was 1600 Hz.
Some 214 phase and quadrature readings were taken by McClemen's personnel concurrently with the magnetic work.
- 3 -
H.E.M. Results
Two conductors were located. These are:
1. This is coincident with magnetic feature No. l above. The best conductivity is on Line 45. There is also some suggestion of width.
2. This conductor is intermittent and does not have the close magnetic association as No. 1. It is however not well defined because the grid was not carried far enough to the west and south.
Conclusion
Conductor No. l may be tested with a packsack hole collared at 1450 W on Line 4 S
The grid should be extended to the west on all lines in order to determine the western edges of some of the anomalies on conductor No. 2.
Ground should be acquired to the southwest to permit coverage of t.ie possible extensions of both conductors.

Mr. Roy Rupert, Resident Geologist,Ministry of Natural Resources,Mines Division,370 Lake Street,Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
Dear Roy:
The area flown by Noranda around Renabie included all of Rennie and Meath Townships, plus the north 1*5 miles of Stover and Township 46.
We might be willing to enter into a partnership with some other company if they want the airborne results and the results of our ground follow-up work.
Regards,
EAG/md E. A. Gallo
