This is a professional networking social media site, essentially Facebook for professional based networking. It allows you to manage and keep track of people you meet and form connections with.

Each company and organisation can have its own profile that comprises itself of employees and others can ‘follow’ a company. Companies can post status updates of recent blog articles or relevant news articles.  Over 2500 people follow the Ramsay Health Care Updates.

STEP 1: Build your profile. List your current & past positions & education along with your tenure there. This helps people find you. Add a profile photo Add a summary paragraph. This is your elevator pitch that summarises your career.

STEP 2: Build your connections. You can use webmail import to see all the people you already know on LinkedIn. View which of your existing colleagues are on LinkedIn View which of your classmates are already on LinkedIn

STEP 3: Engage & Learn You can engage with your connections through status updates and comments. LinkedIn suggests thought leaders for you to follow so you’ll also receive their updates in your news feed.
