Nos. of Block - 7 nos,G.P.s- 108. Total areas-6115.359 sq.kms, out of which 1552.55 sq. k.m. forest.Annual rainfall-1521.8, Tribal sub groups-13 , BPL H.H.- 91.85 % tribals. Area covered- 3 blocks, 17GPs, villages- 53Total H.H. -6196, SC h.h.-1005, ST h.h.-4617, OBC h.h.-574 . This year covered- 2500 H.H.s.Land- High land in 53 villages-1293 Hectors, Middle land-1142H,S,low Lands-3529 Hec.Nos. of institutions- SHG-127, Farmer co-pertiv-2, farmers club -22, Pani panchayats- 6 nos

Our observation & constraints in SRI Up scaling .

• SRI require skill on Nursery raising, Land preparation, transplantation, water management, Social mobilization & demonstration our tribal lack the skill & knowledge.

• Limited linkages with government main stream programme• Lack of farmers incentives in the program me , reduced

effectiveness in SRI up scaling .• Farmer perceive SRI require more lab ours.• Timely careful transplantation more then family labour .• Non availability of sufficient organic manure.• Government supply weeder is difficulty for women.• SRI require water management , flooded water and dray

spell affect production.

• CSOs learning and sharing alliance building. • Quality demonstration.• Community mobilization on SRI through Audio visual aid & flax

pictures.• Selection of master trainers /Village resource person for promotion

of SRI.• Interface workshop of farmers & CSOs with govt. Officers/POL.• Convergence with govt. main stream programme.• Instructional arrangement for up scaling and sustainability. • Capacity building of farmers Through Training & Exposures• Dissemination of Successful Case Study to various stakeholders. • Labour Incentives to farmers . • ATMA , S.P.-RKVY - 200 Hectors.• NSFM- - 300 Hectors• BGRI 1000 hectors line

transplantation.• First time in Odisha they provided RS. 500/-

per Acre as farmer incentive.• Out of the input cost 50 % cost will be

organic.

Innovation of up scaling,Preparation of marker , wider & local matterial for nursery raising .Adoption of SRI principle in small millet &miner millet prog. of govt. NFSM scheme.Village MLP preparation approved in P.S. & G.S. for soil health improvement & critical irrigation.(450 F.Ps &765 composts & land development this year)Regis rated cooperative formation to sustain the programme. Presentation before R.D. minister, collector & other line department officers by lead farmers for main stemming SRI .

Overall proposal for SRI up scaling in the districts

Support for 3 years as farmer incentives(govt)Each GP will be as unit for SRI PromotionImplementing system will be fruitful by the NGO/GO through schemes like ATMA, state plan, RKVY, NFSM, MGNREGA, tribal sub plan & KBK Fund support.Intensive capacity and skill building of CRP & Staffs'Promotion of large scale Organic manure through mainstream government programme. Create institutional mechanism at community as well as GP level. Combined focus effort on SRI to bring momentum in the communities.
