of the national commemoration. The Government formed the ANZACS to battle with other countries. ANZAC day is a day when, we think about the many different meanings and people throughout the wars. ANZAC day is also a national, public holiday. On the 25th of April, the women and men, march through the streets and cites,

What does ANZAC day mean for us and why is it special for Australians

Wearing their medals that we will appreciate. ANZAC day means that we will all get together, and when the sun rises, the the trumpets plays and it is silent for a minute, this is a time when we think about the people who have fought for us.

ANZAC day was originally celebrated, at services like the dawn service. They are also celebrated in public areas, like pubs and clubs. In London over 2,000 Australian and New Zealand, troops marched the streets. We all still do this today. The most traditional way is to go into town each year and watch the veterans of recent wars, polish their medals and march through the streets.

• ANZAC day was named that on 1916. Australia's largest memorial is in Canberra. I is the most comprehensive museum. The first dawn service was in 1923. Another thing about ANZAC day that we should remember is the red poppy, the red poppy, has been around since the 1920s. They were the first sprouted in world war 1 after the fighting.
