The evening began with introductory words from Annette Cárdenas and David Hunt, the moderators for the event. Next came Alexander Psy- choyos, who was Am- cham President in 1987, one of the 68 founding members and also on the first Board of Directors that was installed on October 30, 1979. Mr. Psychoyos gave an excellent talk on the reasons and chal- lenges of doing busi- ness in Panama at that time. The keynote speaker was Ambassador Bar- bara Stephenson, who congratulated us all for the momentous occasion, and also called on AmCham Panama to continue supporting improve- ments in education, personal safety and the rule of law to make Panama an even better place to do busi- ness. The members en- joyed a delicious meal catered by the Panama Mar- riott Hotel and danced to the mu- sic of the Orquesta Café.
