The news story I found was about a scientist making people interact with aliens in their dreams. “Volunteers underwent a series of mental exercises on waking and of the 20 who took part, seven claimed to have seen aliens - from little green men to seven-foot-tall robots - as part of an out-of-body experience.” I found this story from the website http://www.metro.co.uk/weird/879931-scientists-can-train-people-to-meet-aliens-in-their-dreams

The story idea I have is about a man called Sam who lives in a big house in America. Sam has been a scientist for 10 years. He loves his job; however he is very popular with the people he works with, they find him interesting and clever because he is always coming up with new inventions. He has a big family that he visits every week. He enjoys playing golf and watching TV. His life is usually very busy with work. There is another man whom he works with called Toby who is jealous of him because he always does well, Toby is quiet unlucky.

One day Toby was at work doing his job as usual doing experiments, then suddenly Toby discovered something new he found out a way of making people interact with Aliens in their dreams, he was so happy and excited that he had one of the weirdest but most unique inventions. This would make him become lucky. He could wait to tell everyone. The next day and work he told people about his inventions, people were shocked and they could believe it, before this no one really noticed him. This made him become popular with everyone at work and became rich from other ideas he invented and he got married. However Sam lost his home and became poor.

In this story I would use a variety or camera shots and movements to make my film different. It would start with a close up of Sam’s face then a close up of Toby’s face, then we would see what happens in Sam’s life, after that we would see what happens in Toby’s life. Next we would see Toby’s life as he is successful and after we would see Sam’s life as he is poor. The message of the story would be peoples life how can change quickly, from rich to poor and from poor to rich. I would use a long shot of Sam big house, to show that he is rich, and a mid shot of Toby’s small and simple house. The shots will show what each of the men do in their lives every day. When Sam is rich a shot will be taken of him where the camera is below him, this will make him look big and important. As well as this a bird’s eye view shot of Toby will be taken which will make him look really small; this will show that he doesn’t have much power. Toby and Sam will are main character of this film as they will be in most of the scenes.
