Early Years

• Born on April 14, 1862 (Galenet)

• Graduated from St. Petersburg University (Grolier)

– Soon joined ministry of state domain and began service in the government (Grolier)

• 1887-1902 Stolypin served as the Marshall of the province of Kovno (Grolier)

• 1903 Stolypin served as the governor of the province of Grodno (Galenet)

Becoming Prime Minister…

• Appointed by Czar Nicholas II in 1906 (Galenet)

• Stolypin dissolved the first Duma, as well as the second Duma, due to differences between the government of Russia and the members of the Duma (Galenet)
