OVERVIEWSpatial Analyzer (SA) is wholly developed and

maintained by New River Kinematics (NRK) in

the USA

Page 8: Spatial Analyzer 26 Jun2011

SA Measured Points (Targets):Targets maintain measurement traceability within their individual observations

Targets maintain a record about who and what measured them, when and how they were measured, and hold the raw measurement data from the instrument.

Targets, because they are tied to instrument measurements, cannot be created through typical point construction or analysis methods--they must be measured. (There is, however, a way to create targets through measurement simulation)

Steps within a survey are recorded in a log file that stays with the file.

Ability to re-compute targets from shots if targets are altered in any way during the survey or analysis

Ideal for CAD-to-Part comparison.

Ideal for assembly.

Simultaneous alignments of multiple objects

(point group, surfaces, lines, planes,

cylinders, etc). The user can weight each relationship

individually relative to its

importance to the part / tool

performance requirements.

This is « real » alignment and

« real » assembly.

The user can set fit constraints and SA

will automatically weight each

relationship.

USMN brings all of the instruments into one common network and creates a point

group that represents the network as a whole.

Traditional methods use a best-fit approach error stack-up affects the instrument

positions greatly.

USMN uses instrument uncertainty and advanced optimization algorithms to

simultaneously solve for all instrument positions.

USMN removes the error stack up and increases the accuracy of the instrument

network.

SA ULTIMATE USMN« Unified Spatial Metrology Network – understand

and optimize network uncertainty
