Color: Generally, 3 or fewer
Light brown Dark brown Black
Symmetry: Refers to the distribution of colors and structures on either side of the axis and not solely by contour.
Organization: Uniformity of structures and their distribution in specific locations within the lesion
Benign Patterns
Benign Patterns
A pattern is created by the placement of structures in a lesion. When these structures are symmetrically distributed and there are less than 3 colors (light brown, dark brown, and black) noted, they create a pattern seen in many benign lesions.
