PhoneCom 2011 Workshop Goals

• Discuss the sensing, networking and application issues of smartphones, and how these can be solved by creating model, frameworks, and implementing context engines on smartphones

• Bring together context computing, social computing, and hardware researchers along with user interface designers and practitioners

Why is this important?

• Still many things difficult to use on the phone

• Context-aware computing has not fully been realized on the phone

• Phone computing software and models are fragmented, no unified framework or model
