WHAT IS MULTIMEDIA

• Multimedia is media and content that uses a combination of different content forms.

• This includes text, graphics, audio, video, etc.

• Multimedia is usually recorded and played, displayed or accessed by information content processing devices, such as computer and electronic devices, but can also be part of a live performance

TYPES OF MULTIMEDIA

• Linear :Linear active content progresses without any navigational control for the viewer such as a cinema presentation.

• Non-linear :Non-linear content offers user interactivity to control progress as used with a computer game or used in self-paced computer based training. Hypermedia is an example of non-linear content.

WHAT IS INTERACTIVE MULTIMEDIA

• An interactive multimedia technology is any technology that accepts user input, presents information conditionally and non-linearly in response, and is capable of presenting combinations of text, sounds, pictures, animations, and/or full motion video.

• An essential feature of interactivity is that it is mutual: user and machine each take a more or less active role
