Why Sundance Does What We Do

The concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere is increasing at an accelerating rate from burning fossil fuels.Our best hope for reversing this trend is through the swift adoption of energy efficiency and clean energy technologies.

Community Outreach

Recognizing the importance of education in facilitating the integration of renewable energy technologies into our society, Sundance employs a full-time Outreach Coordinator for community engagement. 

With a M.A. in Education and Sciences from Western Carolina University, Erika Schneider is a NC Certified 9-12 Science Teacher and has been trained in the National Energy Educators Development (NEED) curriculum.

School Programming

Upon request, energy education programs are held in the schools to support the grade levels standard course of study.

The Solar Quest Station

This interactive game uses an Energy Catch Ball to engage students in a wide variety of discussion points concerning energy and its impacts. It is ideal for Conservation Field Days and for kid’s activities at community events.

Tours of Sundance’s Operations

School groups will often come to our office to see our operations in Renewable Energy. This provides a great opportunity for career exposure.

Mobile Array Events

We power many community events and festivals, and kids enjoy interacting with kids in informal and fun settings with our mobile solar generator.
