INTRODUCTION

Pakistan CIO Summit and Expo 2013 broughttogether CIOs and other C-level Industry alongwith the industry professional at one platformto discuss the issues that matters to them themost.

Pakistan CIO Summit and Expo 2014 takes thisinitiative further and is planned to support theCIOs/IT Heads take the strategic direction oftechnology adoption in their organization in parwith the regional and global IT trends. DATA AND VENUE

The Pakistan CIO Summit and Expo 2014 isproposed to be held on March 25-27, 2014.The proposed venue for the event is DHA Golf& Country Club, Karachi. Situated at DefensePhase 8, Defence Authority Country and GolfClub has gained popularity as the city's mostprestigious social club. Spread over 140 acres,along the shores of Arabian Sea, the clubprovides a scenic view and peacefulenvironment for professional and personalgroup activities, High security parameterswithin the boundaries of the club make it anideal location to organize international events.The newly built convention center at the club isa state of the art structure well suited forholding major conferences, conventions andsummits.

The theme of the summit is 'Solutions forTomorrow' as the summit explores upcomingtrends and technologies that are bound tochange the way information is captured,processed, stored and used making afundamental shift in the requirements forresources and leadership skills required byCIOs.

Session:1 Future of BI - From Big Data to Smart Data

The production of Data is expanding at an astonishingpace, with all the talk about the next big thing “Big Data”.Smart Data makes sense out of Big Data by providingvalue from harnessing the challenges posed by volume,velocity, variety & veracity of Big Data. In this session, wewill learn how actionable information is extracted toimprove decision making, how background knowledge,experiences, advanced and contextual reasoning, andpersonalization is used to extract Smart Data from BigData.

Cloud migrations can be large efforts that require aninitial investment before the payback. It is important toestablish the intended scope of systems that are beingtargeted for migration. In this session we will discussabout a support program, a business case which shouldbe published to articulates the efficiency, agility or costsavings goals of Cloud Migration
