Page 1: analysis

The aim of this section is to analyse (make sense of ) the results and in doing so, relate them to your title and the objectives of your investigation in order to help you prove or disprove the original question or hypothesis.

Page 2: analysis

•To get started, you need to have all your results in front of you. You must make sure this section is complete before you start the analysis.

•There are two ways of analysing your results: description and explanation.

•It’s important that you do both.

•You could begin by analysing each set of data in turn (e.g. results of traffic count, head count, environmental survey, etc)

Page 3: analysis

• When analysing your data, make sure you refer directly to it, e.g. by quoting figures, or comments made by people in your questionnaire, for example

• To get Level 3 in this section, it is not enough to simply analyse each set of data. You also need to make links between your results.

e.g. The traffic count and the environmental survey

The house prices and quality of the environment

The shops survey and the sphere of influence

• Finally, you should always keep in mind the title of your investigation and refer back to it frequently in the analysis.
