DESCRIPTION

The stress from living in an unbelieving world has a way of bringing out the worse in a person so in 1 Peter, chapter three verses 8-9, Peter encourages believers in the local church not to bite and devour one another because of the stress they were under. And since stress also has a way of seeping into the home and affecting the marriage relationship Peter writes to address those who were married and give them some bricks…not to throw at each other, but to build a solid structure or foundation for the marriage and the family to rest upon…a firm foundation that would withstand the turbulent winds of problems related to miscommunication, money, mothers-in-law, children and sex. Part II of a message to wives by Pastor Chuck Brooks, GraceWay Church Baltimore, Maryland

•  Government oppression: “…submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake, whether to the king as supreme, or to governors, as to those who are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and for the praise of those who do good. For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men.” (2:13-15)

When a wife gets saved before her husband, she oftentimes gives in to the temptation to be his “savior” and makes it her sole aim and mission to convert him to Jesus.

Is the Bible forbidding our sisters from wearing jewelry or dressing up? No, it is warning against going overboard, patching up and glossing over the external while neglecting the internal.
