ਗੁਿਾ ਇਕ ਦੇਰਿ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥ ਸਭਨਾ ਜੀਆ ਕਾ ਇਕੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਸੋ ਮੈ ਰਿਸਰਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੬॥ The Guru has given me this one understanding: there is only the One, the Giver of all souls. May I never forget Him! ||6||

ਕਰਿ = Creation

ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਿੇਖੈ ਰਸਿਜਣਿਾਿੁ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚੇ ਕੀ ਸਾਚੀ ਕਾਿ ॥ Having created the creation, the Creator Lord watches over it.

O Nanak, True is the Creation of the True Lord

ਕੀਤਾ ਪਸਾਉ ਏਕੋ ਕਿਾਉ ॥ You created the vast expanse of the Universe with One Word!

ਆਰਦ ਅਨੀਲੁ ਅਨਾਰਦ ਅਨਾਿਰਤ ਜੁਗੁ ਜੁਗ ੁਏਕੋ ਿੇਸੁ ॥੨੮॥

The Primal One, the Pure Light, without beginning, without end. Throughout all the ages, He is One and the Same. ||28||

Ong

• Ong is Naam also called Naad.

• It has no shape color or form.

• Everything was made from the Shabad

• This is not “Shabad” as the way we commonly use it.

• This Shabad is the Sound that made the Creation.

• Through the practice of Simran you will hear this Sound.

• To have proper Jeevan Jach, you need to hear the Shabad.

ਪਉੜੀ ॥ Pauree:

ਓਅੰ ਗੁਿਮੁਰਖ ਕੀਓ ਅਕਾਿਾ ॥ ONG: from the Guru’s mouth came every thing was created with form.

ਏਕਰਿ ਸੂਰਤ ਪਿੋਿਨਿਾਿਾ ॥ He strung it upon His one thread.

ਰਭੰਨ ਰਭੰਨ ਤਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਰਬਸਥਾਿੰ ॥ He created the diverse expanse of the three qualities.

ਰਨਿਗੁਨ ਤੇ ਸਿਗੁਨ ਰਦਰਸਟਾਿੰ ॥ Without qualities He appeared with all qualities.

ਓਅੰਕਾਰਿ ਏਕ ਧੁਰਨ ਏਕੈ ਏਕੈ ਿਾਗੁ ਅਲਾਪੈ ॥ Ongkar is one sound it is one rag and alap.

ਓਅੰਕਾਰਿ ਸਭ ਰਸਰਸਰਟ ਉਪਾਈ ॥

Ongkar created the entire Universe.

ਸਭੁ ਖੇਲੁ ਤਮਾਸਾ ਤੇਿੀ ਿਰਿਆਈ ॥

All the plays and dramas are to Your glory and greatness.

ਉਤਪਰਤ ਪਿਲਉ ਸਬਦੇ ਿੋਿੈ ॥

Creation and destruction happen through the Word of the Shabad. ਸਬਦੇ ਿੀ ਰਿਰਿ ਓਪਰਤ ਿੋਿੈ ॥ Through the Shabad, creation happens again.

ਜਰਪ ਮਨ ਿਰਿ ਰਨਿੰਜਨੁ ਰਨਿੰਕਾਿਾ ॥ Meditate, O mind, on the immaculate, formless Lord.

ਰਬਨੁ ਸਬਦੈ ਆਚਾਿੁ ਨ ਰਕਨ ਿੀ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ Without the Shabad, no one achieves a lifestyle of good conduct.

ਗੁਿਮੁਰਖ ਓਅੰਕਾਰਿ ਸਰਚ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥੧੬॥

The Gurmukh through Ongkar is absorbed in to Truth. ||16|

ਪਾਤਾਲਾ ਪਾਤਾਲ ਲਖ ਆਗਾਸਾ ਆਗਾਸ ॥ ਓੜਕ ਓੜਕ ਭਾਰਲ ਥਕੇ ਿੇਦ ਕਿਰਨ ਇਕ ਿਾਤ ॥ ਸਿਸ ਅਠਾਿਿ ਕਿਰਨ ਕਤੇਬਾ ਅਸੁਲੂ ਇਕੁ ਧਾਤੁ ॥ ਲੇਖਾ ਿੋਇ ਤ ਰਲਖੀਐ ਲੇਖੈ ਿੋਇ ਰਿਣਾਸੁ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਿਿਾ ਆਖੀਐ ਆਪੇ ਜਾਣੈ ਆਪ ੁ॥੨੨॥

There are nether worlds beneath nether worlds, and hundreds of thousands of

heavenly worlds above. The Vedas say that you can search and search for them

all, until you grow weary. The scriptures say that there are 18,000 worlds, but in

reality, there is only One Universe. If you try to write an account of this, you will

surely finish yourself before you finish writing it.

O Nanak, call Him Great! He Himself knows Himself. ||22||

Where is Sachkhand?

It is right here!

Where ever there is creation.

Where ever there is the formless form of God.

You are in Sachkhand.

When was this created?

ਕਿਣ ੁਸ ੁਿੇਲਾ ਿਖਤੁ ਕਿਣ ੁਕਿਣ ਰਥਰਤ ਕਿਣ ੁਿਾਿੁ ॥

What was that time, and what was that moment? What was that day, and what was that date?

ਕਿਰਣ ਰਸ ਿੁਤੀ ਮਾਿ ੁਕਿਣ ੁਰਜਤ ੁਿੋਆ ਆਕਾਿੁ ॥

What was that season, and what was that month, when the Universe was created?

ਿੇਲ ਨ ਪਾਈਆ ਪੰਿਤੀ ਰਜ ਿੋਿ ੈਲੇਖੁ ਪੁਿਾਣ ੁ॥

The Pandits, the religious scholars, cannot find that time, even if it is written in the Puraanas.

ਿਖਤ ੁਨ ਪਾਇਓ ਕਾਦੀਆ ਰਜ ਰਲਖਰਨ ਲੇਖੁ ਕੁਿਾਣ ੁ॥

That time is not known to the Qazis, who study the Koran.

ਰਥਰਤ ਿਾਿ ੁਨਾ ਜੋਗੀ ਜਾਣ ੈਿੁਰਤ ਮਾਿ ੁਨਾ ਕੋਈ ॥

The day and the date are not known to the Yogis, nor is the month or the season.

ਜਾ ਕਿਤਾ ਰਸਿਠੀ ਕਉ ਸਾਜੇ ਆਪੇ ਜਾਣੈ ਸੋਈ ॥

The Creator who created this creation-only He Himself knows.

ਰਕਿ ਕਰਿ ਆਖਾ ਰਕਿ ਸਾਲਾਿੀ ਰਕਉ ਿਿਨੀ ਰਕਿ ਜਾਣਾ ॥

How can we speak of Him? How can we praise Him? How can we describe Him? How can we know Him?

ਨਾਨਕ ਆਖਰਣ ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਆਖ ੈਇਕ ਦੂ ਇਕੁ ਰਸਆਣਾ ॥ O Nanak, everyone speaks of Him, each one wiser than the rest.

ਿਿਾ ਸਾਰਿਬੁ ਿਿੀ ਨਾਈ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਿੋਿ ੈ॥ Great is the Master, Great is His Name. Whatever happens is according to His Will.

ਨਾਨਕ ਜੇ ਕੋ ਆਪੌ ਜਾਣ ੈਅਗੈ ਗਇਆ ਨ ਸੋਿੈ ॥੨੧॥

O Nanak, one who claims to know everything shall not be decorated in the world hereafter. ||21||

How long has this been going on?

ਆਰਦ ਸਚੁ ਜੁਗਾਰਦ ਸਚੁ ॥ ਿੈ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਿੋਸੀ ਭੀ ਸਚੁ ॥੧॥

True In The Primal Beginning. True Throughout The Ages. True

Here And Now. O Nanak, Forever And Ever True. ||1||

Dharma is represented by 4 legs of the bull.

ਸਤਜੁਰਗ ਸਭੁ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਸਿੀਿਾ ਪਗ ਚਾਿੇ ਧਿਮੁ ਰਧਆਨੁ ਜੀਉ ॥

In Sat Yuga, everyone embodied contentment and meditation; religion stood upon four feet.

ਮਰਨ ਤਰਨ ਿਰਿ ਗਾਿਰਿ ਪਿਮ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਿਰਿ ਿਰਿ ਰਿਿਦੈ ਿਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਰਗਆਨੁ ਜੀਉ ॥

With mind and body, they sang of the Lord, and attained supreme peace. In their hearts was the spiritual wisdom of the

Lord's Glorious Virtues.

ਗੁਣ ਰਗਆਨੁ ਪਦਾਿਥੁ ਿਰਿ ਿਰਿ ਰਕਿਤਾਿਥੁ ਸੋਭਾ ਗੁਿਮੁਰਖ ਿੋਈ ॥

Their wealth was the spiritual wisdom of the Lord's Glorious Virtues; the Lord was their success, and to live as Gurmukh was

their glory.

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਿਰਿ ਿਰਿ ਪਰਭੁ ਏਕੋ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਿਿੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥

Inwardly and outwardly, they saw only the One Lord God; for them there was no other second.

ਿਰਿ ਿਰਿ ਰਲਿ ਲਾਈ ਿਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਖਾਈ ਿਰਿ ਦਿਗਿ ਪਾਿੈ ਮਾਨੁ ਜੀਉ ॥

They centered their consciousness lovingly on the Lord, Har, Har. The Lord's Name was their companion, and in the Court of

the Lord, they obtained honor.

ਤੇਤਾ ਜੁਗੁ ਆਇਆ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਜੋਿੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਤੁ ਸੰਜਮ ਕਿਮ ਕਮਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥

Then came Trayta Yuga; men's minds were ruled by power, and they practiced celibacy and self-discipline.

ਪਗੁ ਚਉਥਾ ਰਖਰਸਆ ਤਰੈ ਪਗ ਰਟਰਕਆ ਮਰਨ ਰਿਿਦੈ ਕਰੋਧੁ ਜਲਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥

The fourth foot of religion dropped off, and three remained. Their hearts and minds were inflamed with anger.

ਮਰਨ ਰਿਿਦੈ ਕਰੋਧੁ ਮਿਾ ਰਬਸਲੋਧੁ ਰਨਿਪ ਧਾਿਰਿ ਲਰੜ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥

Their hearts and minds were filled with the horribly poisonous essence of anger. The kings fought their wars and obtained

only pain.

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਮਮਤਾ ਿੋਗੁ ਲਗਾਨਾ ਿਉਮੈ ਅਿੰਕਾਿੁ ਿਧਾਇਆ ॥

Their minds were afflicted with the illness of egotism, and their self-conceit and arrogance increased.

ਿਰਿ ਿਰਿ ਰਕਰਪਾ ਧਾਿੀ ਮੇਿੈ ਠਾਕੁਰਿ ਰਬਖੁ ਗੁਿਮਰਤ ਿਰਿ ਨਾਰਮ ਲਰਿ ਜਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥

If my Lord, Har, Har, shows His Mercy, my Lord and Master eradicates the poison by the Guru's Teachings and the Lord's

Name.

ਤੇਤਾ ਜੁਗੁ ਆਇਆ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਜੋਿੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਤੁ ਸੰਜਮ ਕਿਮ ਕਮਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥

Then came Trayta Yuga; men's minds were ruled by power, and they practiced celibacy and self-discipline. ||2||

ਜੁਗੁ ਦੁਆਪੁਿੁ ਆਇਆ ਭਿਰਮ ਭਿਮਾਇਆ ਿਰਿ ਗੋਪੀ ਕਾਨਿ੍ੁ ਉਪਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥ Dwaapar Yuga came, and people wandered in doubt. The Lord created the Gopis and Krishna.

ਤਪੁ ਤਾਪਨ ਤਾਪਰਿ ਜਗ ਪੁੰ ਨ ਆਿੰਭਰਿ ਅਰਤ ਰਕਰਿਆ ਕਿਮ ਕਮਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥ The penitents practiced penance, they offered sacred feasts and charity, and performed many rituals and

religious rites.

ਰਕਰਿਆ ਕਿਮ ਕਮਾਇਆ ਪਗ ਦੁਇ ਰਖਸਕਾਇਆ ਦੁਇ ਪਗ ਰਟਕੈ ਰਟਕਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥ They performed many rituals and religious rites; two legs of religion dropped away, and only two legs

remained.

ਮਿਾ ਜੁਧ ਜੋਧ ਬਿੁ ਕੀਨ੍ਿੇ ਰਿਰਚ ਿਉਮ ੈਪਚੈ ਪਚਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥ So many heroes waged great wars; in their egos they were ruined, and they ruined others as well.

ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਰਲ ਗੁਿੁ ਸਾਧੁ ਰਮਲਾਇਆ ਰਮਰਲ ਸਰਤਗੁਿ ਮਲੁ ਲਰਿ ਜਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥ The Lord, Compassionate to the poor, led them to meet the Holy Guru. Meeting the True Guru, their filth is

washed away.

ਜੁਗੁ ਦੁਆਪੁਿੁ ਆਇਆ ਭਿਰਮ ਭਿਮਾਇਆ ਿਰਿ ਗੋਪੀ ਕਾਨਿ੍ੁ ਉਪਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥ Dwaapar Yuga came, and the people wandered in doubt. The Lord created the Gopis and Krishna. ||3||

ਕਰਲਜੁਗੁ ਿਰਿ ਕੀਆ ਪਗ ਤਰੈ ਰਖਸਕੀਆ ਪਗੁ ਚਉਥਾ ਰਟਕੈ ਰਟਕਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥ The Lord ushered in Kali Yuga; three legs of religion were lost, and only the fourth leg remained intact.

ਗੁਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਕਮਾਇਆ ਅਉਖਧੁ ਿਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਿਰਿ ਕੀਿਰਤ ਿਰਿ ਸਾਂਰਤ ਪਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥ Acting in accordance with the Word of the Guru's Shabad, the medicine of the Lord's Name is obtained. Singing

the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises, divine peace is obtained.

ਿਰਿ ਕੀਿਰਤ ਿਰੁਤ ਆਈ ਿਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਿਿਾਈ ਿਰਿ ਿਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਖੇਤੁ ਜਮਾਇਆ ॥ The season of singing the Lord's Praise has arrived; the Lord's Name is glorified, and the Name of the Lord, Har,

Har, grows in the field of the body.

ਕਰਲਜੁਰਗ ਬੀਜੁ ਬੀਜੇ ਰਬਨੁ ਨਾਿੈ ਸਭੁ ਲਾਿਾ ਮੂਲੁ ਗਿਾਇਆ ॥ In Kali Yuga, if one plants any other seed than the Name, all profit and capital is lost.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਰਕ ਗੁਿੁ ਪੂਿਾ ਪਾਇਆ ਮਰਨ ਰਿਿਦੈ ਨਾਮ ੁਲਖਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥ Servant Nanak has found the Perfect Guru, who has revealed to him the Naam within his heart and mind.

ਕਲਜੁਗ ੁਿਰਿ ਕੀਆ ਪਗ ਤਰੈ ਰਖਸਕੀਆ ਪਗੁ ਚਉਥਾ ਰਟਕੈ ਰਟਕਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੪॥੧੧॥ The Lord ushered in Kali Yuga; three legs of religion were lost, and only the fourth leg remained intact.

ਸਤਜੁਰਗ ਸਤੁ ਤੇਤਾ ਜਗੀ ਦੁਆਪਰਿ ਪੂਜਾਚਾਿ ॥ ਤੀਨੌ ਜੁਗ ਤੀਨੌ ਰਦੜ ੇ ਕੇਿਲ ਨਾਮ ਅਧਾਿ ॥੧॥

In the Age of Sat Yuga, was Truth; in the Age of Trayta

Yuga, charitable feasts; in the Age of Dwaapar Yuga, there

was worship. In those three ages, people held to these

three ways. But in the Age of Kali Yuga, the Name of the

Lord is your only Support. ||1||
