Some Basic Premarital Christian Counseling Questions To Ask Prior To A Relationship
As a Christian couple, there are some basic premarital Christian counseling questions that you may want to consider prior to
making the decision to be a serious couple.
1. Is Jesus the Lord and Savior of your life? You may say, well of course. But remember to some He is just a prophet
and not necessarily Lord and Savior. There is an enormous difference, if you have children, how will you explain
Jesus to them?
2. Do you have values that are in conflict with each other and more importantly with the word of God? What are they?
How will you change them according to the word of God?
3. What about traditions and holidays? What are acceptable to you or not acceptable?
4. Do you believe in what the Bible says about unmarried people?
5. What about abstinence during your relationship? Have you already committed fornication? Are you willing to stop
and ask forgiveness?
2 Timothy 2:15
King James Version (KJV)
15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing
the word of truth.
This verse is talking about the word of God, but it can also be applied to those in a relationship with another. It
can mean that you must study each other. I know that this is a very short list of questions, but they all serve as a
great importance. As you begin to ask these questions and several more questions that will arise during your
discussions you will get closer to Jesus and also to each other.
Take the time to answer all questions honestly and completely for each other and before God. Remember, God
only put two people together. For the rest of us, it was done my our own free will so it is up to you to ask some
basic premarital Christian counseling questions of yourself. Hopefully, you will do it sooner rather than later then
continually throughout your relationship. Learn the answers before you become too deeply involved with one
another.
