TECHNOLOGICAL EQUIPMENT USED:

Mac computers - This is the main technology used, because this is how I have completed everything. I have created everything on the college Macs.

Video camera - Without this we wouldn’t have a music video, as it was used to film everything. We set it up on a tripod and pressed record.

Digital camera – This was used to take pictures whilst working, also for animatic and our artist pictures for the Digipak.

Memory card – This was used to save our footage onto.

Flip camera - This was used to take behind the scenes footage and also for feedback from other students and teachers.

Kindle Tab – This was one of our props in our music video. We had the Kindle out on the table whilst the artist played it.

Iphone – We used our phones to take pictures throughout our whole project in order to show how we completed every task.

Final cut pro – This software was used to put the footage with the music and to edit it with all the cuts and effects.

Photoshop Express – I made all my ancillary work using this software. It was good because it had all the effects I wanted and it was easy to organize everything with it.

Microsoft PowerPoint – This was used for research. When making blogs for research and planning we had to use different technologies so I used PowerPoint for the detailed blogs because it can present my ideas effectively.

SOFTWARE:

Microsoft Word – This was also used for research, in order to have a variety of technologies. I just simply put the research this software and then used ‘Scribd’ to upload it onto blogger.

Paint – I didn’t use this software so much, because I used it at home to crop and edit pictures slightly and also to screenshot pages as I do not have access Photoshop at home.

Camtasia – I used this for my evaluation questions to have different technologies and also it was easier to talk over it whilst showing my products.

Facebook – This was used to reach our target audience easily, to keep them updated on our progress and to get audience feedback.

Twitter - This was used to reach our target audience easily and to keep them updated on our progress which would help the artist gain popularity as the world now is all about social networking.

Blogger – This is where every step of this project is shown. Research and planning have been blogged about for both music video and our ancillary products.

Gif maker – I have used this to show a range of technology and also having plenty of pictures in one blog looked messy so it was better to have them in one frame and being presented like a slide.

Photo bucket – This was used as a slideshow for all the pictures we took throughout the whole project and also for the footage for the Digipak.

Time toast – This was used at the beginning of the project to show our planning and when we expected to do what.

YouTube – Most of our research has been completed thank to YouTube, as we looked up all music videos there and also copied those links to our blogs etc.

Prezi – I used this as an alternative to PowerPoint as I wanted a range of technologies and also when presented Prezi looks much nicer. I have included my research on adverts on this site.

Scribd – This was used to upload any Microsoft document onto blogger, as we could not directly upload those.

Slideshare – I used this to upload my PowerPoint presentations onto blogger.

SKILLS DEVELOPED

Overall I think that my Photoshop and Final cut skills have developed quite a lot throughout this project. Although we did use these software last year I forgot some skills. But this year I managed to regain it all, whilst learning new skills with Photoshop, for example I wasn’t aware what the stamp tool was but I know now. As well as developing skills, I have gained new skills, for instance I was not aware of Timetoast, Photobucket and Scribd but I know now how to use them effectively.

Overall most of the technologies were used after filming as then we needed all the important ones to make the video and research information.

We could not have completed anything without these technologies as we would not even be able to film one scene and also we would not know what to do without the internet.

It was very important to have all the technologies we did at every stage as without it we would have nothing

New media technology is very useful in media, as without it our skills would not have developed or we would not even have a product to begin with.
