• Wildlife include all non domesticated animal, plants and
organisms.
• Domesticating wild animal and plants species for human
benefit has occurred many times all over the planet
,and has a major impact on the environment ,both
positive and negative.
• While the term in popular culture usually refers to animal
that are untouched by human factor ,most scientist
agree that wildlife around the world is impacted by
human activities.
• The Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 is an Act of
the Parliament of India enacted for protection of
plants and animal species. Before 1972, India
only had five designated national parks.
• The main objective of act are the following;
• Prohibition hunting of specified wild animals and
plants.
• Setting up and management of National Park
and Wildlife Sanctuaries.

The International Union for Conservation of Nature is an international organization working in the field of natural conservation and sustainable use of natural resources. It is involved in data gathering and analysis, research and field projects.
Founded in 1948 by Julian Huxley which is the largest professionals conservation network .
Governance by a council elected by member organization every four every at the IUCN World Conservation Congress.
IUCN is uniquely positioned to support climate change adaptation action at all levels from local to regional and global.
The Critically Endangered listincluded 18 species of amphibians, 14 fishes and 10 mammals. There are also 15 bird
species in the category. The agency listed 310 species as Endangered ones, including 69 fishes, 38 mammals and 32 amphibians.
• Jim Corbett National Park is the oldest national park in
India, located at Uttaranchal. The Corbett National Park
is a heaven for the adventure and wildlife seeker.
• Kaziranga National Park is located in Assam. It has the
highest density of Royal Bengal Tigers in the world. The
park also hosts two-thirds of the world’s Great One-
horned Rhinoceroses.
• The Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary is the largest
and well preserved sanctuary in Tamil Nadu, lies in the
Western Ghats. Elephants were earlier trained and used
for timber operations till felling of trees was stopped in
1972.
