• Make eye contact• Introduce self using first and last name and title• Ask permission to sit down and take ten minutes

to ask questions

• Ask if there’s anything needed before leaving• Thank the patient and family for their time• Demonstrate hand hygiene when leaving

• Explain the purpose of your round• Demonstrate confidence, empathy, and humility• Check room, make sure everything is within reach• Explain white board, date, staff, plan of care, discharge date• Manage up! Your team is the best!
