Key aspects of 4-H Livestock Project Task Force

• Plan, implement, and evaluate project trainings for all 4-H livestock members and leaders as they participate

• Encourage leaders/parents/volunteers to assume leadership roles and participate in trainings

• Model Quality Counts program to all youth, parents, leaders and the community

• Identify resource needs – financial, material, volunteer

• Develop systematic approach to livestock project visits

• Assist with livestock show entries – receipt entry money, possibly maintain livestock show bank account, etc.

• Encourage dialog between 4-H and FFA leaders to foster a positive approach for youth development through livestock projects

• Assist CEA in development and direction of output and outcome plans related to 4-H livestock projects

• Be involved with state and county validations and represent 4-H interests to county show board/association

• Develop species list of current 4-H Livestock Projects in county program

• Needs Assessment • Determine if Master Livestock

Volunteers are present in county• Identify potential members for Ag.

Project Task Force with help of co-workers, mentor, RPD, and DEA

• Find out if they have experience with 4-H livestock projects

• Members should be screened before participating

• Try to have representation from all species, clubs, precincts and project leader tenure.

• Important to have older leaders and second and third year leaders
