DEFINITION OF GENETIC MODIFIED (GM) FOODS
The term Genetically-modified (GM) foods is most commonly used to describe crop foods and animal products which are modified by molecular biology techniques.

HUMAN HELATHThe debate surrounding the human health of using
GM foods is growing increasingly complex, intense
and emotional.
ADVANTAGES VS. DISADVANTAGESAD: provide more nutrition than unmodified foods
Such as the mineral, vitamin.
DisAD: Possible to cause an unexpected allergen
or allergic reaction in susceptible individuals
because of the foreign gene which was
introduced by GM project.
ENVERIOMENT The environmental implications of producing GM
products
become a subject of much debate.
ADVANTAGES VS. DISADVANTAGESAD: Reduce agricultural wastes • Reduce the chemical pesticides• Reduce the herbicides
ADVANTAGES VS. DISADVANTAGESDisAD: • GM foods lead unintended harm to other
organisms(eg. kill various of insect larvae indiscriminately),
• GM foods result the non-target effects to the environment (eg. weeds would then be herbicide tolerant as well).

Low Food Yield
SUMMARY It can be seen that GM foods do have the potential to
solve many of the world's hunger and malnutrition problems, and to help protect and preserve the environment by increasing yield and reducing reliance upon chemical pesticides and herbicides.
